Because while Luffy's and Sakazuki's worldviews are diametrically opposed and there's the small matter of Sakazuki killing Ace, Blackbeard is literally the Anti-Luffy (and he also sold Ace to the Navy in the first place).

Personally I think the final war will be a three-way battle between Luffy and his friends, Sakazuki's Navy and the WG goons, and Blackbeard's empire. The question is just who gets punched unconscious first.
