ITT: We wait for the new summoning mechanic
I'm torn on whether to watch Vrains as it's airing or wait for it to finish and binge watch it like I'm doing for Arc-V.
ITT: I wait for Dennis.
And also Antique Gears.
>What is Yuuya going to do to Dennis who has Antique Gears!?
>Yuuya heads to Xyz dimension, where Dennis is waiting for him! Will their duel be able to make people smile!?
>doesn't want to stand out
>VR mode leaves his face completely visible and makes his hair extra crazy
I can only assume that the transformation was given to him against his will, perhaps by the little black thing. That just leaves the question of what is making him actually use it, and why he doesn't just wrap a towel around his head while doing so.
Well it doesn't straight out say that those are what he's going to use to ENTAME, so maybe he just draws into one and has a "Oh yeah, I did use these cards to burn this dimension down." moment Yuuya has to snap him out of.
I do like how the episode title mirrors 74, though. "Mask of Clown" for his entertainer persona and "Cursed Gear Mask" for Academia.
Seems like 5Ds+Zexal which is no promblem since i liked both but i dont like this picture's aesthetic.
Decode Talker looks off the hoverboard is just ugly and the suit has clown shoes and i dont really like the color scheme.
It'll be weaker than xyz but stronger than synchro and pendulum
As long as his hair changes he'll be okay, remember nobody could tell the difference between Yuya and and Yuzu's clones even their parents couldn't.
Pretty sure Yuya already did that in XYZ when he started becoming EGAO Messiah plus this episode is just so Dennis could do one last thing(even when it's far too late at this point but sure why not).
tribute: 2 (-1 the method. Beneficial effs are needed to even make it usable)
ritual: 10 (WHY THE FUCK ARE THEY NOT IN THE ED)
fusion: 8 (-2 the method. Desperately needs beneficial effs.)
synchro: 7 (this would be a six if they didn't pigeonhole it into masturbation)
xyz: 9 (this would be a 7 if R4NK wasn't so obnoxious.)
pendulum: 7 (on one hand, you need to set scales. On the other, Konami has given us lots of fun opportunities to plus in absurd ways otherwise)
They're giving me a Dennis fanservice episode for no reason, so I'm going to enjoy it regardless.
tribute: 3 totally decent but slow
ritual: 4 if only it got support
fusion: 2 its ok
synchro: 6 its cool but solaitre made it shitfuck
xyz: 11 wtf is this delete this
pendulum: 5 glass cannon
delta: idk 6 for obvious reasons
>nobody could tell the difference between Yuya and and Yuzu's clones even their parents couldn't
That just means nobody will be able to tell the difference between regular and transformed Yusaku.
Can't wait Yusaku Fujiki! Especially that new ace monster it looks cool and hioefully unlike Utopia his whole archetype is based on knights! We need more people like myself to appreciate how awesome knights were after the travesty that was noble knights. Satellarknights don't count because they're spacefags.
Why does Dennis even matter this late in the game. Its not like anybody cared all that much about his story anyway. The Lancers really din't care he was a traitor. Shun forgot all about him and so did everyone else. Now he gets a duel with Yuya like 6 episodes from the finale?
But I'm already of the opinion that Arc-V was all Decade's fault.
The first Jack v Yuya duel. I actually liked all of the Jack duels (even if I hated most of Synchro), but this one was the best for character exposition and plays. It's also a good example of the use and abuse of action cards.
Apparently he has a big enough fanbase for someone up there to care. Or maybe they thought they wanted to show Heartland and EGAO stuff again and had to go with a character who they hadn't used for that already, no idea. Or maybe they just wanted to shill Ems and Antique Gears for one last time.
Nevertheless the whole thing makes at least me happy.
any clue that this is?
the info mentions it?
Big enough. He gets a good chunk of doujins in events and such, so he's popular enough in his own right.
GUYS! What if Yuto takes over and it's actually Yuto VS Shun?!
>Why does Dennis even matter this late in the game.
He doesn't. But the show likes to add padding everywhere until it's mandatory to do a plot thing, and then they usually just rush through it like their hair is on fire
How accurate was this guy?
(also, he said he meant to put season 4 of GX together with 3).
Personally, I disagree on the zexals and 5Ds after Dark signer, but it's more of a matter of taste
Anon, the dimension scattering does erase memories as we already knew, but we don't know about shattering the counterparts again. Yuto is gone from xyz from the previews, so there is a chance he is still there
Not really. That Pendulum personality/wavering thing has been used a lot during the whole show. Ray may have pointed it out last second, but a pendulum even appeared swinging sometimes when Yuya went berserk
In the beginning of the show the Pendulum meant to grow and control your emotion while having faith that your efforts to be positive would bear fruit in everyone's heart, and joy would befall all through your entertainment if you could control the lurking sadness and fear in your heart. SCRATCH THAT. Zarc is like the evil part of the pendulum and yuya is the good (leave the other yuus aside goddamn it) and then then then he sways to be good and good wins so yuya wins the end.
34, 45, and 51. I love 45 so much just for the part where Yuya and Yuto walk together with the pendulum in between them and where he pendulum summons with that malicious face. Plus I like the part Serena and Dennis duel.
Heroine voiced by KanaHana doesn't sound so impossible now, right? RIGHT!
So, Kaz is sitting down with a random Konami goon - Let's call him Ono - and is talking about two things: a recent movie he saw and a recent game he played. He liked both of them. Ono took that information and made Burainsuru. Which film and game where those?
Vrains could at least give us a female rival.
Maybe I'm at fault for being hopeful but I think VRAINS has potential, at least I'm really looking forward to the first episode after the disaster that is Arc-V
Decode Talker looks better than Utopia and Odd-Eyes and Flame Wingman/Neos anyways
But is it really confirmed they're doing another summoning method after Pendulum? I always thought Pendulum would be the last for a while at least
He talks to the NAS producers. They ask him for ideas. He doodles stuff and comes up with concepts in his notebook. Gives it to them then they ask him to do legit char/monster/setting design based on the ideas they want to use.
It really is a shame that Arc-V went from the potential of being the best to being pretty much definitively the worst.
I don't have much hope for Vrains being the savior of Yugioh. It probably won't even have a long period better than Standard or the Dark Signers arc.
But of course I will spend the next 3 years watching it.
Sure enough but other than moving when Yuya went berserk it never received focus or played a great role but suddenly it comes out of the blue as a symbolism for good and evil and it's just off. The final duel was a mess anyway.
And by that I mean the smug tomato.
Will they try the keikaku shtick again or is glasses adjusting going to die with Reiji?
Will I ever get over him?
he ded, took away ugly baby's smile
I'm assuming you mean excluding the basic duel disk tech. They could go the light novel-esque urban fantasy route in a style that's still appealing to kids (like TWEWY I guess), but I'm not sure if that would be that fresh either.
I really hope so. He's my favorite rival character-wise. Obviously he was treated like shit but he just has such an appeal that I'd love to see again treated well.
Even famous VAs and what they get paid for an anime role are nickels compared to the total cost of production for an episode. The top seiyuu stars monetize their fame and rep through singles if they can at least pretend to sing, events, promo stuff, and getting vidya roles, which are the actual lucrative gigs.
So basically the arc-v staff is incredibly incompetent. Zappa leaving I guess was really important. Maybe the DSOD did impact Arc-V but it shouldn't have been that severe.
What gets me is that they just run full steam ahead a lot of the time with whatever Kaz throws at them. He designed Yuma's ridiculous hair, and they stayed entirely faithful with no changes when converting his sketch to a character model.
Hosoya could've had scheduling conflicts, but it's not like he was consistently swamped with a ton of roles over the years Arc-V was airing. Some VAs like Yoshit-whatever juggle a much larger workload on the regular.
Man I'm gonna miss Yuya. Even though he became unbearable with the EGAO Jesus power he's still a lovable tomato in my heart. Just like arc-v, it went to complete shit, which I know objectively, but I still like it. What's wrong with me
It starts off with a more annoying peanut gallery than the standard kids who never leave, a more useless main girl than Kotori, who is a bigger damsel than Yuzu, the rival is lamer than any of the ones from GX, and less relevant than Reiji.
This is the worst outcome honestly
Fuck Arc-V was pure hype at the Maiami championship arc and the Obelisk first invasion when we learned about the universes and the academia. How they fucked up that perfect plot so badly.
Dude you have no idea how hyped I was for each episode since Yuto showed and the Obelisk force showing up and all the theories for the plot just fueled that. That went on for about 40 or so weeks and it's no wonder that I became obsessed arc-v.
I have no idea how they fucked it up. I'm pretty sure any one of us could have completed the vision of arc-v better than they could have.
Remember how hype we all were when this happened for the first time?
Looking back on it the red-eye stuff didn't make that much sense if in the end they went with Supreme Yellow for the gargoyle, even though OG Zarc post retardation had Flashlight Red.
I honestly freaked the fuck just as hard as I did when Shun activated RUM
Can we take a moment to appreciate how great of a design Yuya had, including his muscular build?
Healthy tomato is best tomato
They dropped the ball with Zarc. Might as well go with your own headcanon at this point.
Will remain in my memory as the cutest for sure
Seems like even the animators love Berserk Yuya
I get that it's reminiscent of Zarc the cowboy's original hair, but honestly it just makes his head look like a christmas tree
Or maybe Berserk was their take on Yu-Gi-Oh Super Saiyans
Yuya's Berserk scene during the Battle Royale when Sora carded Tsukikage's brother was very similar to when Gohan first went SSJ2
Really Berserk Yuya and EGAO Jesus Yuya should be treated as separate characters
We all know who everyone likes the best
You can't not love Berserk Yuya. Some of the best moments of the show is when he shows up or is on the brink of appearing. Zarc is so lame compared to him.
I personally think it was only bad in Synchro because it was mostly used in the Yuu screaming party against Sergey and against DC277
Although when he fought Crow I enjoyed it the most because Crow deserved a real impacting ass kicking
well, once in a few dozen a random berserk moment was fine since it usually it ment that either plot gets moving or it was some character development
but then 92 happened
Once we got to spamming berserker every two episodes it was meh.
I can feel your pain I started watching the show at around episode 72 (after marathoning all previous episodes) and I've been in these threads since episode 88. Fuck man, the hype was so real, and after marathoning Standard I thought this would be the best card game anime ever. Even after marathoning through half of Synchro, I still thought the epicness hat stnadard hinted at was inevitable. Then the OF invasion when I joined /arcv/ was so fucking amazing, until it ended in utter shit. Seriously he's so right >>153552791 . Any one of us could've fulfilled Arc-V's vision since it set up its patterns pretty damn solidly. Even a Ritualfags inserting a Ritual Dimension could've made the show 10x better than the shite that our beloved ARC-V descended into. Seriously, the show keeps going into a worse direction with each and every subarc... why the hell are we wasting 3 episodes trying to remember the past, and worse, wasting them on a shitty match?
...I guarantee you that stuff like Raging Dragon were all never intended, although I'm at least happy we got him since OERD's scale and effects weren't that great. I guarantee you the writers were originally going to make an Odd-Eyes Clear and Odd-Eyes Venom Dragons and none of this Synchro Paladins, Raging Dragon, and Zarc as Fusion Pendulum cards
Berserk Yuya really should have been the real final villain, not Zarc.
Zarc didn't even used Rebellion or Raging Dragon, and they have some of the best moments in Arc-V's duels
Truly, the demon tomato deserved better
>still no Fusion Pendulum
>even though the manga has one already
It's so sad. All the themes were so obviously laid out and the ball was dropped on almost all of them. The most obvious one was no Odd-Eyes Clear and Venom. It really does feel like either the people who worked on it left or they just stopped caring.
It was funny how Yuzu (and Yugo at one point or another) made it a point to use the FC to warn Synchro of Academia and how they could level the entire city.
But then it turned out Leo wasn't interested anymore in invading Synchro outside of getting the bracelet girls, and the only Academia influence that did anything to the city was Jean, who was working for himself and accomplished almost nothing. So it just made Yuzu look even more silly and useless.
I'm really disappointed that they never bothered making Rituals relevant in any form, let alone a Ritual Dimension. At the end of the day, hate on them or not, Rituals are a unique summoning method (even if they aren't in the Extra Deck). For fucks sake they even have their own card type/color, their own kind of Spell cards, their own lore, and hey are even recognized as a stand alone method by the game itself (see Dimension Barrier, Sophia, etc.) Even the game-exclusive Odd-Eyes cards recognized they were unique so they made an OE Ritual.
I think Ono just really doesn't like Rituals since 5Ds never had any, and the only 2 Ritual users in ARC-V got shafted and humiliated so hard.
I bet you Ono thinks Synchros are upgraded Extra Deck Rituals so there's no point in using Rituals in the anime or making them relevant.
You people mean Starving Venom Clear Dragon?
Cause it was quite obvious that Yuri was going to absorb Yugo waaaaay back into the start of synchro. There were already theories the final battle between yuus would be Yuya VS Yuri each having absorbed one counterpart, though the Hanate opening made it a bit weird.
... why didn't we have Yuya(to) VS Yugo?!
At least the motherfucker deserved his defeat at the hands of Yuri. Take that! Yuto lost a turn with three fucking cards in hand, Yugo deserved to have his resources ruined by nostalgia characters
Worst part is Kaito actually used a ritual in Zexal. It's understandable him not using fusion (Jack didn't too), but goddammit, if he is gonna shill Ciphers, at least try to shill them, Konami. Most printed cards so far suck and we could get some of the ones he used with a buff or two. It sucks that Kaito in all incarnations only served to make boss monsters
Reminder that Ebina has abandoned us for Fate Stay Mordred
Sasuga Ebina, leave and never look back
Rebellion was used against Obelisk Force, and Reiji though.
And against Reiji there was deepest lore with him rising through the stairs to defeat the King, though failing in his Rebellion, while Reiji claimed Yuya may have emotions, but that alone would save no one
Since Zexal was like Starforce, we Battle Network now?
Can I get some cards that are like Dark Chips or something? People creating cards is already acknowledged in Arc-V, I want to see shit going down with ''Sin Card created by desire'' or something
Vrains is just Tron.
And Tron is just Battle Network with bikes.
And Battle Network is just a ripoff of Medabots and Digimon.
Which are ripoffs from Pokemon.
Which ripped off the Digimon Tamagotchi.
Which started as a pet caring device.
Which the Egyptians started.
Who also played Shadow Games.
And who eventually had a Japanese comic book based on their sick culture of top decking and dead draws.
>why didn't we have Yuya(to) VS Yugo?!
Because then Yuya would have absorbed Yugo
Which should have been what happened. It literally happened anyway during Yuya VS Yuri.
Instead of random Paladins of Enlightenment and Nirvana, the Synchro-Pendulum that should have debuted is Odd-Eyes Clear Dragon
This is a semen demon
Looks good so far
Fiend ace when?
Maybe it could work if they have a "he's a guy in VR, but a girl in real life" sort of thing. She'd be shit the moment they reveal it's a chick, like most anime that use similar gimmicks.
Hungry burger fusion.
Starving Venom transports Yuri around, Yuya beats him with Odd-Eyes Rebellion and blasts Yugo through buildings
Alternatively, Yuya beats him and blasts him away, but due to some shit going on in the moment, he doesn't get to stay close enough for Yugo to absorb him. Yugo gets to live and later arrives in Xyz dimension for the climax of the arc in the war to take back Heartland he faces Yuri and loses.
Tiny problem. Malefics already are that. In Japan, they're known as "Sin" cards. And since the nature and design of Malefic cards were made exclusively for Paradox, they're never going to be used again. So, sorry, no Sin cards.
Atem, Judai, and Yusei have the 2nd biggest dicks. Nothing beats Kaiba. Worried Kaiba is cute.
It's VR. He could probably materialize the monsters from the cards like a Yami no Game. Where would he hold them? They could probably float since it's a virtual world. DoD Kaiba had a pretty advanced duel disk, so it'll probably be like his.
Zarc is a Fusion Pendulum in the real game while Leo's ace is a Fusion Pendulum
It's funny how they have Raging Dragon in the OP and as the harbinger of Zarc's anger but at the end of the day it was only used twice and was never used again, not even by Zarc himself
Well, Zarc kind of combined the four dragons straight away. It isn't like he combined them with each other.
Though it would be cool if we got Starving Venom and Clear Wing combinations and it was awesome that Rebellion and Raging are two sides of the same coin... though it was pretty redundant to make another Odd-Eyes/Dark Rebellion hybrid when we could have gotten anything else instead
I hope we get Soraru
Who cares, it's not like V-Jump ever says anything.
>Who is this character? Could it be...
>What is this? Find out soon!
>Character B likes curry puffs and likes their friends!
>Look at this girl, is she the MC's fucktoy?
>FIND OUT EVERYTHING WHEN THE SHOW AIRS
So you mean we get the design of the rival AND best girl in one go?!
This isnt Iris Zero, anon
Just posting best girl in the series, don't mind me
>Dark Lords will never get to be in an anime
Once upon a time, there was a girl in Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal. She fell in love with an idiot and bullied him during childhood and he accidentaly broke her heart, so to get revenge and force him to date her, she became a duelist and built a deck of Lvl 10 trains to summon rank 10 monsters and beat the crap out of him.
She ended up dueling and losing to Yuma and learned after that it wasn't Yuma she had actually fallen in love for (which makes sense because as much as he is an idiot, one thing he isn't is a betafag)
And that's why there exist rank 10 trains.
Much later, in Arc-V, after Edo's introduction, which is the biggest sign that the writers stopped caring, they made the character that references her be voiced by a hippo and use rank 4 trains, for the same reason Destiny Heroes look like whatever they are and one of those references 5D's of all things
The way she was just effortlessly stomping was great, so was the way she called her cards with the finger snapping
supreme bullshit at how she lost. Should've been in the anime
Original series aside, is 5d's widely considered the best Yu-gi-oh series?
I ask because the hoverboard thing in VRAINS sounds dumb, but if people are saying the the "card games on motorcycles" Yugioh was actually one of the better ones if not the best one, I'll give this a try.
5D's had the nerve to do it twice in one show
5D's is fucking good, don't hear the bullshitters.
Original series sucks if it wasn't for the nostalgia involved.
5Ds was great in the west, but in Japan it was actually Zexal, which is probably the reason they are making so many Zexal-thingies with the new series. While the hoverboard seems weird, they probably think the synchro arc being well received compared to later arcs meant the audience actually liked the aspect of moving card games.
This one hurts because it ended up fucking this up for most of the cast. Jack didn't need to be a regular, he needed to duel either on his own team, or once in a blue moon, and while I didn't like Crow stealing Aki's spotlight, it was really Jack sticking around that ended up fucking both of them over.
No, what I have been hearing is Yugioh DM and Yugioh 5D's are the best Yugioh series, but I only heard this in passing, so I haven't done any real digging into opinions. On the rare occasion I see a ranking list, I usually see DM or 5Ds (sometimes specifically the 1st half of 5Ds)
How would you rank them?
Zexal I am more familiar with and I don't like what I have seen. And you mean 5Ds isn't really popular in Japan itself, but is popular elsewhere?
Fuck the peanut gallery, seriously.
It would be fucking refreshing to not have a peanut gallery at all for once. Just have the MC, Main Girl, Rival, Best Friend and a few other assorted duelists as the main cast.
The annoying, commentating side-liners never do anything other than drag the show down. Just leave them out of the series completely already.
Don't forget Dark Signer Carly. Aki, DS Carly, & Sherry were the trifecta of nice-looking skilled female duelists.
I am still mad that the Carly/Jack romance was scraped in S2. Also mad, but less mad, that Aki/Yusei never happened.
Yusei vs Bruno is one duel where the only people around to talk are the players, and it was like the best duel (or at least 2nd best) of that arc. I doubt they would permanently get rid of useless hanger-ons who are only around to be peanut gallery, though. They're useful dialogue dispensers to pad out an episode when needed.
>Bragging about Yuto and Ruri
Shit couple. 99% of the show had Yuto acting as if he was saving his best friend's sister only for them to randomly get quick flashbacks that show they were a lot closer than that. Yuto was always saying
>I'm trying to save Kurosaki's sister
>I'm trying to save Kurosaki's sister and my girlfriend.
I know the guy who did the GX storytime is in this thread.
5D'S STORYTIME WHEN!??!
>Jelly of bland Ruri and bland Yuto
If Yusei or Judai hooked up with their girls I'd be jelly. Yusei could have ended up with Sherry or Aki and I'd be jelly. Arc-V girls are shaped like children.
>still mad that the Carly/Jack romance was scraped in S2
We all are.
>Original series aside, is 5d's widely considered the best Yu-gi-oh series?
The duels were complex with lots of back and forth.
Coincidentally why it did poorly in Japan, they like simpler retard duels where MC gets shit on for 15 minutes then OTK's
>Arc-V girls are shaped like children.
I agree with this, but the Tyler sisters are hot as fuck.
Has anything this cool happened in the later Yugioh mangas? Blatant Atem style cheating by the protagonist? Just finished reading that storytime and this was cool, reminded me of the end of DSOD
Zexal (the 4th series) made "creating cards out of nothing" an established thing for the main character. It was called "Shining Draw". Yuma would literally create a card out of nothing that has a specific effect that perfectly gets him out of the situation (sometimes, the card would be absolute shit unless it was used in that super specific situation he created it for).
He does this multiple times. It is a big part of why Zexal is a trash series.
The only person who did the Zexal "summon your ace and shit out conditional traps to protect it" was Jack.
Yes GX and DM had lots of duels where Judai/Atem were havivng back and forth but that wasn't the question you nigger. The question was why do people consider 5D's the best
Shining Draw only lets Yuma draw Zexal Weapons. He rarely draws anything else with it. Re:Contract Universe let him modify 1 card one time.
I always love how people skip over Yusei having his dragon daddy make cards for him.
Yusei does it too. Especially late in the series when his game plan is summon Shooting Star and sit on it.Crow liked to sit on Armor Master, Aki had like 2 Synchro monsters and sat on Black Rose often.
I miss the fuck out of BN and SF3.
They canned SF just as the series was getting good, although to be fair they were supposed to can BN after BN3, and BN didn't properly recover until BN6.
>all these people arguing over how it's pronounced
This would be understandable if there wasn't LITERALLY a guide right above it. It's pronounced "brains" but with a V. It's one syllable, and the V is not silent.
God, no. GX fuck itself over with any plot it tried doing. I loved the duels, but the show was deeply flawed. The only season with an interesting plot was the last one, but it ended way too soon (it definitely felt like Truman was later going to start either corrupting cards, or making Truman copies with GX characters as templates).
>why do people consider 5D's the best
Because that's when most people first started watching YGO subbed, or at least those who cared about the spinoffs and weren't dub only casuals. Most of the YGO fandom only remembers DM and GX for its dub. So having the uncensored japanese version on top of it being "mature and dark with adult characters" compared to GX or DM already made it great in their eyes.
It's just kind of funny when you take the nostalgia goggles off and see just how bad the show became halfway through Dark Signers and for the rest of the show. All of the nonsensical changes that had to take place, even if they were from outside factors.
The thing about it is that each series is 3 years. They're not ALL gonna be good. Hell, even most 12/24-episode anime aren't 100% good and have bad episodes.
The issue is that with a shitty company like Konami, there's going to be a lot of shit that ruins the ability of the show to realize its full potential. That's BEFORE we get to shit like writers not understanding their jobs, the stale duel writing, sex cults, demon transvestites from outer space, animation issues, VAs being expensive, going over budget, yearly extensions, writer changes, writers not understanding the characters they're writing, animators getting siphoned off to other projects...
If a series can manage even 1 full year of good content, that's pretty damn good, honestly. Sure, we might not like it, and we might wish it hadn't gone to shit, but there's still a good solid block of rewatchable and viable content.
Where are my V-Jump leaks? What's taking so long.
You're right, but 12/24 episode series are much more focused that 100+ providing only one major plot point stretched through each episode. Looking at the episodes as interlocking pieces rather than individual "good" or "bad", long runners inevitably fail much harder.
If a 150 episode anime has a couple of bad plot points, you shake your fist in frustration and move on. You might skip the episodes on a binge watch or a rewatch, and in a lot of cases only the livewatchers will likely get too salty about it.
If a 12 episode anime has a couple of bad plot points, it's almost entirely trashed. Most (if not all) of the show is panned and is considered unwatchable, or only watchable for some secondary aspect (fanservice, VAs, visuals, ect).
The higher density of stuff that needs to happen in a specific amount of time means that 12-episode anime have less room for error.
Will Yusaku use Fusion and Synchro monsters and have a spell card called Cross Fusion in addition to the new summoning type?
I was already hyped, now I'm even more hyped.
Or 2, or 6...
So is someone gonna make one of these for Arc-V when it ends?
Arc-V doesn't have traditional Yugioh filler for the most part, though.
It has weird mixes of content that a viewer needs to see to know what's going on, content that has a veneer of being important to plot or character build up but is questionable in retrospect, and then obvious padding that's mixed somewhere within the same episode/set of episodes as the previous stuff.
Oh no doubt. Arc-V takes a marked dive in quality after Episode 50, picks back up towards the 80s, and then nosedives after Edo's introduction. From there, it never recovers properly.
A damn shame. Leo being a dumbfuck could've even been excused if the rest of Fusion arc was good, but shit like BB, the Pirate duel, and the absolutely pointless but requisite Mind Control subplot really drug it down.
I think the worst part about Fusion arc (and to an extent, Xyz arc) was that there was so much shit that could've been amazing, but it never paid out in any meaningful way.
>Kaito's back! He's got new monsters! He makes Rank 8s with Lv 4s!
>...oh and by the way we're basically cutting Shun from the show and killing his character. And then we're gonna rehash it with Kaito. Because you like reruns, right?
>Allen Kozuki! A Kotori stand-in! This could be amazing! They're in a tag duel! Holy shit!
>...except they literally exist just to hand stuff to more important characters, and are jobbers otherwise.
>Academia's Elite Agents! They specialize in Tag Duels? Not Battle Royales, but ACTUAL Tag Duels? That's fucking awesome! AMAZONESS SUPPORT?!
>...oh, wait, never mind, they show up for all of 7 episodes, are brainwashed immediately, and to top it all off none of their shit is printed.
>Edo's back? He's the COMMANDER IN CHIEF for Academia's Xyz Occupation? He met Yusho once and has a grudge?! Surely this will result in an amazing arc where he and Yuya play cat and mou-
>hahahahahahaha no he's just a whiny little faggot that doesn't like being told he might be wrong about genocide by card games.
>But ASUKA. Yes, Asuka. She got a badass/hot redesign, she's a student of Yusho, she's using Rituals, a defector from Academia, and might even mentor Yuzu.
>Nope. Walking stick for 25 episodes, then dead. Barely any lines. Not even good eye candy because she's never onscreen. Barely even learns Yuzu's name.
Fanservice is the number 1 reason to watch zexal 1
it's good, don't listen to these tsundere faggots, they're still posting here for a reason
if you watch it and don't like it you're just a pleb
(but yeah objectively it's undeniably bad but still more unique than the average seasonal anime)
i used to think it was most important to have a history with yugioh to be able to enjoy it but i've known some people with little history with the franchise who have gotten into it
it's a top tier meme show, consistently and reliably entertaining. enlightened duelists are able to shift between irony and sincerity during their viewings of the show
Here's how we Make Ritual Great Again
1. Ritual Monsters go in Extra Deck
2. More support card
3. Unban Thousand Eyes Restrict and turn it into the most supported archetype since Blue Eyes last year.
4. MC uses a Ritual deck and BTFOs everyone else
5. FeMC uses Gishki and also BTFOs almost everyone else.
6. If you want ship potential, MC can use Avance and FeMC uses Emilia.
7. Build a Wall on the Fusion Dimension and make the Fusioners pay for it. Because when they come in they are not bringing their best. They're bringing crime, they're bringing cardists, they're rapists and some of them, I assume, are good people.

>Sawatari, Yuya, and Gorgonzola are in Fusion!
>Here's Kachidoki because we need more Rank 4 = Level 0 memes.
>Yusho is a badass! He's finally dueling! And it's against Dennis, his student!
>...except his deck is basically "How to not pay child support for 3 years.dek".
This would've been fine, except the thing with Dennis never went anywhere and the whole fleeing subplot was pointless in the end.
>Dennis is ACTUALLY acting like a proper Academia agent? Wait, no, he's having a change of heart?
>Wait, Dennis, why are you pointing your duel disk at yourse-oh. That's why.
>Wait, why was Kaito even the one that dueled there? Why not Asuka, who ALSO studied under Yusho?
>We're going to Academia! Thanks brainwashed Selena!
>But first let's have a retarded pirate duel!
>Reiji has a boat.
>That's it. Reiji has a boat.
>These guys are actually making plans on how to invade Academia using actual Academia deserters for their plan-making.
>...except for some reason said deserter doesn't think that the area where soldiers are TRAINED is going to be a place that is highly monitored and filled with potential traps.
>Also here's a fucking Harambe joke for 4 episodes. And GladBeast support that will never be printed. Also HIKOKUBO.
>The Ruris are brainwashed! Holy shit this could change every-
>hahahahahaha, nah. Shun gets a pity win handed to him through the POWER OF ABUSIVE SIBLINGS instead of ACTUALLY having to have character development. At least Yugo's loss was good.
>Also Selena ditches her furry porn knockoff amazon deck because she'd rather you masturbate to a bug with smaller bugs for tits.
>Edo gets a cool new boss monster!
>Except it's not only trash, with trash stats, and a trash effect, but ALSO a 5Ds reference! On a GX character! Thanks Ono! Can't wait for Dark Crimson Dragon Magician or Number S39: Stardust Utopia!
Concluded in next post.

>Zarc has won! He finally merged all of his pieces together, and is taking on the dimensions! Our heroes will have to all work together to take down this fearsome beast and save the day!
>...except, nope, it takes 4 fucking rounds and 7 duelists before anyone actually accomplishes anything against Zarc. AN HOUR AND A HALF OF SCREENTIME IS COMPLETELY POINTLESS. Also Crow's back. Because that's what you wanted: More Crow.
>But hey, Crow's back, so that means Asuka can come back and BTFO Zarc with the power of Rituals!
>No girls allowed. Even the girl that beats the final boss is a boy.
>Sawatari's turn to shine! Surely, with him being just as good as Yuya with Pendulums, and having EVEN MORE Abyss Actor support, and always being JUST BEHIND the Yu-s for the entire series, SURELY he can FINALLY have his moment in the spotlight and get something in!
>Nope, he just pisses him off and gets him to activate Final Boss Bullshit Trap Card #82,499: Fuck You I Don't Care. This is the closest thing to a victory Sawatarifags are likely gonna get: Pissing off the Lord of Dragon Dildos.
>Reiji's up! Time for D/D/Devastation.
>No he jobs. He puts up a fight and jobs hard in order to make Reira of all people win.
>The dimensions have been fixed! Time to have our denoument where Yuya and Yuzu finally get to
>Wait where's Yuzu
>No seriously where the fuck is Yuzu
>WHY ARE THEY DOING THE JYC AGAIN
>WHY DOES YUYA NEED TO GO ON AN INTERDIMENSIONAL TOUR TO FIND HIS WAIFU
>WHY DOES TATSUYA HAVE DESKBOTS
>WHERE ARE MY AQUAACTRESS PENDULUMS
>Also where's Leo
>BUT WHERE THE FUCK IS YUZU
tl;dr: Arc-V is a huge pile of wasted potential. These posts summarizes most of it. My final score of Arc-V is 9.75/10 "Disappointing and Underwhelming".
I've been working on one and taking notes since the mid-20s, but I'm waiting for the series to end before I actually make the thing.
Current draft has the entire Synchro arc being entirely optional, since fucking nothing of value happens plot-wise until the last episode or two. I actually rewatched the last episodes of Standard and the first episodes of Xyz to test this, and only found a few points of contention, which can be summarized in a few sentences.
If you DON'T want to skip Synchro, there's definitely a couple of decent arcs in there. The highlights are the first couple of episodes, the prison arc, a few gems in the first round of the friendship cup, most of the second round of the friendship cup, and everything from the Obelisk Force Invasion on.
5D's is a lot better than what /a/rc-v gives it credit for; but it does contain as massive problem. An almost 80 episode long drought that followed the Dark Signer Arc. It doesn't pick up until the Aporia duel and by that time the damage was already done.
I appreciate you taking the effort. But it physically hurts to read all the stupid in detail. Most folks suspend their disbelief to enjoy stories, I think Arc-V fans induce permanent brain damage
When making decks for the protagonists how exactly are you supposed build around monsters like Stardust Dragon and Elemental Hero Neos? The goal is to be able to bring these monsters out on the first turn and constantly bring them out as needed, right? How does this work in the animes when they only have 1 copy of it? Espepcially for Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon, Dark Magician and elemental hero neos where most of their decks are full of dead draws if you don't already have it on the field
absurd draw power
lots of searchers
the bs power of anime writers
And to be serious for a moment, I've actually ran Odd-Eyes Magician with only one Odd-Eyes before. Its definitely worse off as you really want to have a second copy (but you don't really want a third) but its manageable because of the sheer amount of searching you can abuse and you don't need to draw it to win the duel.
Neos and neo spacians are steaming piles of shit so that shouldn't be included. Yugi's deck in DM didn't revolve around Dark Magician, it was simply his most iconic card that had a scant bit of support cards.
at least one person has VJump but they are only focused on DBZ
Yeah, I've tried the deck out and Odd eyes pendulum at one isn't that much of a bad thing as I thought it would be, I ended up winning with Startime and Enlightenment or one of Odd Eyes's forms including hte ritual than Odd Eyes himself. I honestly don't get why this isn't Yuya's deck now. Maybe for the final duel in the series he'll switch to it.
So, what you're saying is I should focus on the core priciple of the deck rather than the iconic card behind it? I guess for Yugi, I can go generic spellcaster lockdown and for Judai I can go for the elemental hero fusions and just use Honesty Neos instead of the vanillia neos since it at least acts as an honest for heroes. Thanks, anon. You've helped me make this a little bit easier. Now if only Yuma had a solid themed extra deck.
I told ya'll yesterday that this month's VJUMP wasn't gonna be much. There's nothing left of Arc-V to shill and Vrains is 2 months away. Wait til March 17th for real info card wise and show wise, until then, you've nothing but duel links and these shitty ass duels for Gon,Shun and Dennis
That's probably the best route to take if you want to run a deck that's at least playable but faithful to the theme of the protagonist's deck. But that being said, it is very much possible to run a deck centered around dark magician. There's been enough support released where a fun casual deck can be made.
Where the hell are my leaks? V JUMP is out RIGHT NOW. They ALWAYS have something every month on YGO. Pendulum Summoning was revealed in February 2014 in V Jump according to the Wikia's creation date of the page titled "Pendulum Monster". There must be some YGO info, come on leakers help your fellow /a/nons out
Why not have them screw each other?
Was it too good for the show? Is that why they dropped it?
There's still time for the big villain reveal, right?
I will destroy your world, non believers.
