Why does characters in nowdays anime always stay in the same place waiting for the events to come them instead going out there finding the events?

because it was actually supposed to end in Piccolo-Mayunia arc, but people wanted more and more, and unfortunatly toriyama is too stupid to say no to his retarded fans. well, at leas 3 upcoming sagas were actually cool.

Didn't you know anon? Protags are meant to be bland, brainless, power fantasy, reactionaries!
Character complexity? Hah! Unique? Bleh! Proactive? Yuck! Not overpowered? Disgusting!
Cliché, Muh freindships, dumbass, zero char development and forced drama?
HELL YES! GET THE MONEY GOING!
There's a popular adventure show airing this season though.

>it's the same story on a different island
>it is also a whole bunch of flashbacks and the anime is just 30 minutes of tl:dw/dr,10 minutes of reason,3 mins of OP/ED and maybe the actual episode squeezed in for two or maybe three minutes

He posted an image of fucking Dragonball, anon.
The adventure part wasn't all that popular compared to the tournament. When GT went with the adventure format, it wasn't nearly as popular, and they ultimately went back to the fighting format when Baby was introduced.

This.
People just liked the fights more than the adventure stuff.
Red Ribbon saga was a good mix of both but that dragged on a bit towards the end.

I don't think chain chronicle is popular at all, anon

Any more like this?

I am quite sure that has more to do with the fact that "adventure" is mostly unstructured whereas you got a clearer goal or enemy with fighting genre.
Which is why the Frieza arc was IMO pretty great (even tho it dragged) for Dragonball standards.

That would explain why the second half of DB is just tournament arcs. My favorite part were those few episodes spend training for the first tournament. Meeting Krillin, Launch, and delivering milk was hilarious.
