Is this Yusaku's dueling?
This is for the anon who wanted Buster Blader behind Yuma
I'm not the anon who made the original pic
Rank 12 Falcon in glorious Noh Gil-bo animation SOON
Sparkman, is that you?
>yugioh: a tale of a boy who symbolically deals with puberty in a assured way
>gx: a tale of a boy who deals with puberty in a worst case scenario
>5d's: a tale of a man who sets out to create his tribe of misfits with potential
>zexal: a tale of a boy who sorta goes through puberty, but comes out the same way on the other side
>arc-v: a tale of a boy who goes through puberty, but is not to blame for his poor choices
And people ask why the first yugioh and gx are the favorites.
Why Terra Firma? He looks more like Buster Blader
>Disliking literally the best ED in all of Arc-V
Speaking of ace monsters, what's the best looking card in terms of design?
I liked Utopia the most, second to Stardust
So we have had
>Spellcasters and Dark
>Warriors (With dragon jacking off)
>Beasts (With dragon jacking off and forgotten spellcasters)
Whats the bet, clusterfuck or psychic/warrior
hope and its million variants
Probably clusterfuck, I doubt they care much about making MC's archetype visually coherent all together. There's not really a reason why Yuya mixes a bunch of mystic looking magicians with a bunch of circus animals other than 'why not'
The implication the series was originally going for was that the Magicians were intruders in his deck, and his default deck was the Entermates. The running theory early on was that the Magicians were Yusho's archetype, and that Yuya was just cribbing them in an attempt to be more like him. As the series went on, it became clearer that whatever "darkness" was within Yuya's heart, it was being channeled via the Magicians and Odd-Eyes cards.
So really, Yuya's theme was "Circus Animals, except here's a dragon and some magicians because they don't fucking belong here" on purpose. It just never went anywhere, like 80% of Arc-V.
> All of these zexal babbies thinking hope and its upgrades are aesthetically pleasing
Yusei sidelining his Junk synchros was criminal.
Same happened to this guy
At least he got the ending he deserved
Neither of those cards will go to 3 because of the MC's archetype. For starters, the ace is usually Lv 7, so neither of those cards directly help it. Additionally, the MC's deck usually has 2 or 3 types running around (although Yuya's had like 7), so it doesn't necessarily help the deck indirectly, either.
Is it just me or his ace monster looks like a Gundam?
“The Truth about the New Series is finally revealed with new visuals!!”

ON AIR SPRING OF 2017 ON TV TOKYO
As long as the character writing is half-competent I don't give a shit how stupid it looks.
If we have another Wasted Potential series like Arc-V, I might just firebomb Konami HQ.
Buy Antique Gears.
Hopu is mytologically the most Heroic and righteous design of a monster in all yugioh. It may not have pretty curves, but it speaks to people more than the chicken, the magician, the spaceman, the dragon thingy and whatever the fuck yusaku's thing is.
So the new ace looking at him with detail. He has the head of sparkman the body of buster blader and the sword gottoms uses. The orbs are like the ones on thaousand eyes dragon.
Replace Yuya with Kaito and you just described episode 114.
Even Dennis does EGAO better...? Dennisfag, can you vouch on this?
Dennis makes me EGAO the most, but I'm obviously biased.
Dad never bought him a Game Boy because there's no future in video games, so he couldn't trade Pokemon with friends on the playground, so he took up the loner image out of necessity.
Now he's going to show his dad that you can make a living off of video games.
I think that since this is VR, the cards aren't actually there. Therefore whenever a card is not in his hand, it just transforms into a VR construct like a monster or a face-down.
Only if you have shit taste
It's the 4chan conundrum. If the show is shit the threads slow down but will have less frequency of cancer by probability.
If it attracts enough of an audience through genuine quality or interest (and the threshold is probably a lot lower for a franchise like this), the cancer multiplies like mad. No escape
It's really simple. Larger population means a larger number of over the top posters. This isn't just a Yugioh thing, it's any piece of media that gains and continues to gain some kind of dedicated following because it's interesting.
>Konami dosen't know the difference between Agumented Reality and Virtual Reality
How the fuck are they still making money??
>they only don't like it because it's popular!
Or maybe, just maybe, this new one looks like actual trash? I know you can't fathom a way that anyone could dislike something you like but try to think for a moment.
I'm not even making any statement on Vrain's probable quality (which is low for any Yugioh spinoff). Maybe it'll be the merciful killer of these threads.
But because any news on it is more interesting and novel than the usual nothing going on in Arc-V recently, it crops up more posters like yourself.
>How do you know this is actually AR?
In that cause ... drums roll ... we're fucked
We don't know. However, I hope they don't just focus on the technique and like Arc-V they showcase them all.
One of Zexal's weaknesses was how 99% of the duels were about Xyz monsters. There were only like 3 fusions used throughout the entire series, and they pretended that Synchro monsters didn't exist.
Every duel seemed to be "I summon these monsters with the same level to summon my Xyz monster, I'll now sit on it for the rest of the duel".
who will stop this motherfucker?
I feel like the new shows are just trying too hard
It's crazier hair, crazier designs, crazier stuff happening and all
GX had good character designs and so did the original Yugioh, save for Yugi's hair.
5D's was kinda weird at some points but still overall good, ever since we hit Zexal it felt like they were pandering to kids
>b-but it's a children's card game
Nobody gave a shit about that until Zexal, apparently.
I liked 5D's design choices in some aspects, like Yusei's hair has a good balance between crazy and tame, Jack's coat and the twins overall design. But some things really rub me the wrong way, like Crow's face, Jack's bike, Aki's clothes, and things like that.
What I liked about GX were the low stakes at first and how it gradually built towards other stuff.
I mean, Zexal was basically a GX parody
>it's all about fun
>suddenly stuff happens and everything gets serious
Yet Zexal never had any kind of tension the way GX did.
I don't know. Zexal started from shit and got better over time. 5Ds started from great and turned to shit. I think I would give a little bit more to Zexal simply because it sort of knew when to use it's characters better
Like I wish Gauche, Droite and Anna had been in the series more but that's better than like all the dropped plot points and characters and fucking Crow that 5Ds had
>Nobody gave a shit about that until Zexal
Except Yugioh TAS made it a meme years before anyone had even heard the name 'Zexal'. Since it aired on saturday mornings on a kids' cartoon block, and all.
I honestly liked Arc-V designs a lot. Yuya's hair was stylish and not over the top like Yuma's and the outfits were basically their uniforms wore in a different way. Even Academia's lackeys wore militar uniforms.
The only "weird" looking characters in Arc-V were BB and Demon Zarc. Probably Yusho, but that was his persona, after all.
Dennis is cute! CUTE!
>yuzu "orbhead" hiragi
>all of the yuboys (if you don't think they look utterly bizarre you're delusional)
>everyone else with double-layered hair
That's just you not liking the general design style, though. By "weird", anon is probably talking about within the context of the show's overall style, not when it's compared to different anime or how actual humans look
>The new series features Yusaku engaging in Virtual Reality Duels in a cyberspace constructed with the latest technology!!”
>“A mysterious creature following Yusaku!?”
>“Is it a monster? Or perhaps…A DIGIMON
He wears his dojo uniform.
>yuzu "orbhead" hiragi
Weird hair, but her natural hair is straight
>all of the yuboys (if you don't think they look utterly bizarre you're delusional)
Yuto has his (old and dirty) uniform, same with Yuri. I will give you Yugo.
I will give you that
His uniform when he "studied" with Yusho
???? I don't see anything wrong with him
Now compared to the Arclights, the Barians and Don Thousand they look fucking normal to me.>everyone else with double-layered hair
Arc-V's aesthetic is easy to tolerate and not hate, but it has no teeth. Almost all the environments and a lot of the characters outside the main cast have that same wash of genericness post-64 5D's had up until the Arc Cradle arc. The best set pieces were the unique action fields, which were dropped 1/3rd into the show.
>Information from the future: It's a SAO ripoff
Let's keep hoping that it's a Digimon ripoff
A WSJ-like magazine with YGO news.
My question is what will be in V Jump ?
Also, daily reminder RUM-Battle Force and Executive Alexander and Cesar will be printed in a "new product" so we'll probably be getting the servant dragons.
The other series didn't have character models melt quite as often as Arc-V. It's a problem when even the still shots without movement get janked. GX was entirely korean animated, and even those sweatshop slaves managed to improve at their jobs by season 4.
V Jump is a Japanese magazine about new manga and video games based on popular manga. The magazine's debut was in 1993 by Shueisha under the Jump line of magazines (V Jump, Jump SQ, Weekly Shonen Jump, Weekly Young Jump). There are currently twelve manga titles being regularly serialized in V Jump (Dragon Ball Super, Digimon World Re:Digitize Encode, Dragon Quest Soten no Sola, Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V). Jump Festa is Jump convention held every year. Jump Festa focuses on all the Shonen related magazines. Also the video game company, Square Enix promotes their games at Jump Festa, due to their close ties with the V Jump magazine.
I find it too generic looking to really appeal to me. The thing I prefer about YGO MC cards is that they subvert traditional expectations of hero looking cards in terms of either appearance or individual role
I also take some issue with Neos for this exact reason as well.
>Not wanting politics in your card games
This is the reason Ono stopped trying during ARC-V.
Konami of Japan realized the audience now hates 5D's to the core due to the wanking in Arc-V and remembered Zexal is one of the most popular yugiohs there, so they are gonna wank zexal now.
To be fair, 5Ds is still the only series to have a completely good narrative arc from the beginning to the end of said arc.
GX varied in quality even in its best times. Zexal's good times are split by really awful filler even at the best of times.
ARC-V had a good third of a narrative arc
DM's good shit was split by filler everywhere.
My hype and optimism for this new series has decreased a lot.
The MC suit looks retarded and his hair is by far the worst of all. His ace looks good tho but that little Gremlin seems like its going to be annoying. His hoverboard also looks pretty lame. Seriously why the fuck does he looks like that when he doesn't like to stand out. Is he a shy Beta faggot in school and later in the VR game he is a star? It gives me Digimon Applimon vibes and that show is cancer
If this means he is gonna use all summonings, I'm all up for it.
If this means he is gonna get 3 fusion upgrades for his ace, 2 synchros and forget them forever and only use Xyz that either belongs to a different dimension version of him or are a combination with said version's cards, then fuck him
I had little to no hype to begin with, so mine increased. I have hopes for him to be either like the protag of Iris Zero, or be like super shy except in the game world where he gains courage and stuff.
You know, kind of like 90% online gamers that are super beta IRL, but considers themselver the shit in the game
We said the exact same things about every single Yugioh series ever.
>Look at this kid's hair
>Where is Yugi why is there a school
>Motorbikes? Yugioh should probably just stop
>Look at this kid's hair
>Carnival monsters? Yugioh should probably just stop
>ace looks cool
>shittiest of tastes confirmed
>sparkman on steroids
>Buster Blader's retarded cousin
Just read the thread, mate. It's bad, and it should feel bad. Look at the thing that's coming out of his back and tell me it's 'cool'.
>doesn't want to stand out
>becomes good at card games
>fame over night
>girls asking him out and rubbing their soaked nethers at him
>as a faggot his only love is for being a little bitch. Check Shinji from Eva for more info on that.
>main girl gets Aki'ed as MC falls in love either for rival or his hooverboard
Reminder that this series will have youtubers. In other words is trying to do the same thing as Digimon and make it more kiddier. Don't get hype
I actually kind of like his suit, his hair and ace monster. Why must you guys be so negative about everything
A villain of the week will be trying to get people to kick him in the balls while dueling or stealing people's Duel Boards then screaming that it's just a prank bro for sick likes and subscribes on YuTube
I'd rather have it be really bad in the beginning and turn out good like in Zexal instead of having 5D's or Arc-V all over again.
Your expectations can't fail if you didn't have any in the first place
Because I know I don't have to accept a shitty cartoon just because it's the only option, or because it's this sub-culture's "cross to bear".
Agreeable people like you built the Nazi regime and propagate Marxism and communism, and that is really dangerous. Each series they degrade more and more the quality of yugioh, and you're okay with that because: you invested too much time in it; you feel like it ties you with the people in the 'community'; you're not satisfied with your life; you have no self-respect to admit that you're watching a very sub par show.
Wake up. Look at his hooverboard. Is that cool? His tron rip off is cool? his sayin or sonic riders rip off (which is a rip off in of itself) is cool? his bland looking ace is cool?
Really think about it.
I hate it when people are negative just to be negative, but being naively positive is just as bad.
Its Zexal III, dumbass
It was. Compared to the arclight stuff it was terrible. The barians themselves weren't threatening or effective in the slightest for a good 40 eps, making their grand offensive from 123 onwards feel more insulting than interesting. The ones that got any real development were just comic relief and solely exist plot-wise to be used as vector's puppets and any potential for further relationship development was just shoved out the window as soon as he brainwashed them. Vector himself was one note as fuck. Shark's switch to Nasch was too abruptly done to really empathize with or take seriously and a character ruining slap in the face after the 15 eps of filler at the start of barian arc. Rio does nothing ever. Durbe is the blandest fuck in the world. Don thousand is as bad if not worse than Faker as a last boss.
The duels were even more focused with protect the castle bullshit than before. The Astral world and barian worlds both are impossible to empathize with or care about since we know nothing about either of them. Yuma goes full card game jesus when before he was more a parody of a jesus figure with his stupidity and never say die attitude endearing him to the people who helped him in the first arc.
Above all else, it's an arc that lacks the quirkyness that made zexal unique tonally and for that alone it disgusts me.
Yusei is too masculine for modern times, even though he chose a bike and an android over a girl. Yusaku will be a beta faggot who acquires friends, fame, recognition in very unbelievable ways, and it will be hard to swallow, and it will fell off and wrong, because it will be.
You could say that Atem, from a symbolic perspective, specially in the beginning of the story was just Yugi "growing up", so it's kinda like Yugi did win those duels. At least Yugi was just a loser, and not a faggot.
Where is everyone getting this "he's never played the game before" idea from?
The initial previews just said he doesn't like to stand out. It didn't say anything about his expertise on dueling.
And look at the fucker's VR outfit. It goes completely against the whole "not wanting to stand out thing". He's trying to pull of a straight face with pink fucking hair.
Yeah, but I'm talking about the sort of individual that watches it. Most of the people in these threads can't put it down, or see it for what it is, and what it should strive to be.
I doubt they are making a new type of summoning method. There's too many cards out now that refer to the four summoning methods we know of, and Ritual Summoning as the main ones. Specifically cards like Dimensional Barrier.
Remember the rumors that stated that there would be a new 4th deck zone behind the S/t zone, and that a new banished zone would be behind one too? Look at the faggot's disk. What do you see?
You're getting a new summoning method, and you better like it. Get on, or get out.
Empathizing with Barian was easier to be honest because Astral World was a shitty place that caused everything to happen. They were basically Synchro from Arc-V.
Or how Zarc was a dindu nuthin gud boy.
It's going to be a Deck Master card type.
They will be played a new zone below the Spell/Trap zone and have effects depending on criteria met. There would also be criteria to be met to summon them. Once summoned, they lose the Deck Master effects and gain monster effects. DM monsters are treated as Effect or Normal monsters throughout the rest of the duel. DM cards would be treated like Spell Cards in their own Zones but if they would be removed from the field, they just go face down instead, until the next turn.
The criteria I'll mention will just be called DM Counters.
Deck master abilities could be as simple as "increase the Attack of Fairy-type monsters for every DM counter on this card by 100"
or something more powerful like:
"Remove 3 DM counters from this card to add one Beast-Warrior monster from your deck to your hand"
DM counters could be gained through specific criteria mentioned on the card like sending cards to the graveyard, destroying monsters by battle, activating Spell/Trap cards
This was really the only thing I could think of them doing without going back to the Extra Deck.
Dennis returning yet again is still the most hype thing for me.
Looks like a cross of yuma and yusei, hopefully more of the latter.
>not liking suits
That's a nice walking stick you have in there.
Appmon is basically Hunters with a better plot, but that's not saying much. It's just a mix between Pokemon and Yokai Watch with some appmons in there, besides not having a Digital World arc is unforgivable at this point.
>as in Arc-V
>tfw this shit is on Arc-V's timeline
JUST FUCKING STOP
That's the thing I thought so too but the design gives off the same impression as breaker he has the orbs around his body and counter type effects aren't typically part of the warrior strategies it could fit in the psychic category because psychics are closer to mages than warriors though an overlap is possible.
It looks like Buster Blader. It's a warrior. Warrior types are easy to support are susually very straight forward beatdown like effects and can be very prone to changing to suit their needs. It's a warrior, hopefully it's upgrades will be better than boring as Utopia.
I really hope that even if we get a new summoning method, the other ones will still get time in the spotlight. Arc-V did do one thing right and that was not wanking off to pendulums every duel.
>It's a warrior, hopefully it's upgrades will be better than boring as Utopia.
Makes me wonder what the fuck they'll be called. What do you do with "Decode Talker" to suggest an upgrade or mutation?
captcha: unsuitable aaiun
Deck Masters are selected after Turn Order has been established. I was thinking a player would get their choice of 3 Masters.
Combine him with various other codes.
I liked Hope and his upgrades felt like he was getting stronger but i hope Decode Talker upgrades are more like combinations, how DM fusions is a complete different monster with DM traces in it.
Except they are just like magicians only they are psychic and if the late 90's to early 00's showed is that kind of theme is marketable even today in the west magic and other kind of themes like are are used heavily sepcially these days.
I believe the same applies with psychics even thought they aren't part of the same theme they borrow from it and gives it a high tech twist wich has been used before in comics and tv shows.
It will be great if for once this happens in a constant timeline. Gx and 5ds were retconned. Even before that, 5ds wasnt easy to figure the tine period. Zexal was parallel from 5ds and Arc-V was an alternate continuity
It would be nice if it continued from another yugioh, mentioning stuff about it once in a while and some characters from it appearing... well, you know, like GX did, not Arc-V.
>muh cyberpunk Yugioh bullshit
Just admit the series was vastly superior when it was normal society with the hologram gimmick.
These jet bikes, speeders, and other bullshit they come up with are massively retarded. Return the setting to 2020 with cool fashionable clothes, a bit more advanced hologram program from Kaiba, and watch the interest skyrocket 5000%.
>Hope=keep forward and yuma kattobingu
>Stardust=destined card get stealed by MC best friend
>Odd Eyes=chromatism and dualist vision of world
>DM=ancient servant reincarnaion
>Neos=space dude come out of nowhere
Never. Zexal will always be the best for me regardless of how childish it was.
I won't allow DM that cucks the viewers with 2 seasons of fillers to be considered the best yugioh
Stardust being stolen was just a representation of its effect. And if you think I'm bullshitting you, just watch Jack Vs Yusei 1. They spell it out.
Judai drew Neos himself.
Dark Magician can be summarized like that, but you're clearly trying to devalue his impact in the story.
Odd-eyes represent many things. Too long to explain it here.
Hope is the Sun. Literally, is the embodiment of what the sun represents thought the world in various cultures.
I think it'd be cool if all of Decode Talker's upgrades for each summoning method would be from different programs, extensions, hacks, etc. -type monsters.
Kind of like Psy-frames.
i dont tried to devaluate any impact, just some mistakes (probably bcuz is a little summary) :T
anyway im intrigued by sun=hope...
>imaginary friend becomes space guardians
I liked the Barian arc but I feel like most of what people are thinking about when they say it was good can be narrowed down to what Vector does and things directly caused by what Vector does, like everything going on with Numbers 96. Nasch was okay and he gave us a really good duel with Yuma that helped to cap off the series in a nice way. But the execution of Shark's transition into Nasch wasn't that good, and I agree that for all Merag is worth, she doesn't really do anything. There are only 2 duels of hers I can actually remember being even remotely emotionally charging and stylistically pleasing. Don Thousand was not good.
Protect the castle is Zexal's thing though and I never really minded that. Yuma did summon and win a duel with 2 Numbers that weren't Hope at one point, so I feel like that was a refreshing enough change for a series that has established "basically only your ace matters".
As for the shift in tone it was very moderate and it tried to explore the consequences of certain behaviors and beliefs, so I can't fault it for that. It still very much felt like the logical conclusion to Zexal I.
I wonder why Necroz is still more popular.
>Return the setting to 2020 with cool fashionable clothes, a bit more advanced hologram program from Kaiba, and watch the interest skyrocket 5000%.
That was basically Zexal. Some of the designs really needed work but that was basically it.
>Halves the atk
>Cant attack on that turn
>Opponent may even be an xyz user
Nekroz compensated the weakness most ritual decks have of a monster or spell sitting useless in hand by giving secondary effects to all rituals and powerful effects to the spells themselves. Not only that, they had rituals powerful enough for a person to build a deck around them when it was already an OP deck around them to begin with.
Cyber Angels and Gishki were a step on the right direction on making a Ritual deck, but Gishki was powercrept and Cyber Angels arrived on the wrong time. Nekroz, however, was disbalanced, hence why it got the banlist treatment.
It would be nice if we had some ritual decks that worked nowadays, but I guess even a Nekroz with all their cards out of the list would have trouble in the current format (I dont mean full power. Djinn Releaser deserves its death)
Hopefully this fixes some of the Zexal problems. I liked it and dont mind being childish happy-go-lucky series, but it felt weird sometimes when it changed focus on what was happening.
I see people complaining of Dragons, but we had two protags with dragons and two with warriors. It would be nice if it was something else, like a fiend or a psychic, but I wouldn't mind a warrior.
Post YFW the rival is
Yuzu and we never left the Arc-V continuity
Was Kazuki Takahashi right? Was Yugioh really a mistake after 5Ds?
If there was a mistake, 5D's is part of it
Same can be said about Arc-V, anon. That's kinda the reasons 5Ds and Arc-V sucked
Seems like Yuri is seducing Serena
Veins and digitigrade legs
We posting Serena X Yuri now?
Yeah, there are better options for both anyway.
Correction: they interacted like twice
Sounds to me like you are picking a fight, pal
If the female lead uses "ore", there will be no end.
