Math, not even once.
But I see there a happy math fairy and a regular schoolgirl that lost faith in math and went for accounting.

Unfortunately people who can teach the fun in math are rare. Best you can do is find some practical motivation or interesting problems for you and good books that focuses on them.

I'm like two classes away from getting my Bachelors in CS and feel you. I told myself that I'd never work for some shitty company with a bunch of code monkeys and that I'd be a researcher and lecturer. I'm struggling with the fact that I'm just good at hacking out shit but feel no motivation to pursue any higher topic.
Maybe I can just fake it until I end up a state university as an associate professor. That's basically all I want from this life

>>153515968
Not that I know of. What are the other requirements to acquire a math fairy, Anon-sama?
>>153516121
Only if you can read her mind. Math fairies don't usually share her problems with others.
>>153516641
Heh, that much I know. I used to know a math fairy, but she got too jaded. I could always feel their despair of me not being smart enough to figure her out (without them sharing anything).
>>153516931
Thanks for your input Araragi. You can't have a math fairy, but you can still have a tsundere office lady.
Oh, is this where all the Monogatarifags are? Here, Ougi Dark 012.http://tarabletranslation.wordpress.com/2017/02/15/owarimonogatari-3-ougi-dark-012/

I curse that the man killed tau.
>>153517042
I only want the math fairy though. I need her.
>>153517125
Monogatari fans are probably in the "masturbated to hachikuji club" thread.
>>153517216
The original one is no more unfortunately, you can only find her in mirror worlds.
Question about Ougi and Sodachi.Ougi is malicious to Araragi since that is what he really wants, I get that but is her helping Araragi in Ougi Formula, Sodachi Riddle and Sodachi Lost beneficial towards Araragi? I don't see anything bad about this except giving Araragi some peace of mind. Unless the entirety of Ougi Formula and Sodachi Riddle was designed to help destroy Araragi's Ego when he discovers how much Sodachi hates and blames him for all the wrong in her life and if that is the case, how does Ougi know it would end like that?
>>153517329
Maybe, but that thread is pure shitposting so I'm not touching it.
>>153517334Ougi isn't necessarily malicious. She's there to make Araragi deal with shit he wants to brush under the rug. That can end up leaving Araragi better off than he was before or leaving him in some deep shit, depending on the situation.
>>153517334
Ougi wanted him to acknowledge his mistakes in regards to Sodachi, which "climaxed" in her insane way of dealing with her mom. She didn't expect him to actually go and tell the answer to the mystery to Sodachi, and instead just keep the suffering within himself and yet again betray her. Hanekawa was wrong there as well.
By actually facing her he could move on a little from his past mistakes.
>>153517125
Thank you god for giving me this chapter. I have been waiting for this specific chapter to be translated forever.
Since it seems this is the patricians' Monogatari thread, can we all agree Mathemagics is the best opening sequence in the series?

>>153517983
Uh, sorry, I think the audio in this one is edited as well. I'm a retard.
>>153517983
Agreed, and I'm not even a Mathfag.
>>153517580What about with Tadatsuru and Koyomi becoming a vampire? I can see with Koyomi being more of a vampire, him finally realizing he needs to stop relying on powers to solve every issue, but I don't understand how hiring Tadatsuru to kill Araragi and Shinobu being not malicious? Is it because Araragi wanted to be punished for being a vampire?
>>153518276The Tadatsuru thing is the one that confuses me the most. I assume she wanted to punish him for relying on his vampire powers and to fuck up his relationship with Ononoki.

Hitagi is the one who called and talked Nadeko out of killing him, so she did save him outside of collusion with Kaiki.

No it wasn't.
>>153520388
I wasn't mentioned at the shine. Araragi arrives and is surprised Kaiki is even in town and they have the discussion about Kaiki beating Nadeko with the slug and how she is fine and never to approach her anymore.
If Hitagi told Araragi about Kaiki it was in an un-animated LN or was done off-screen.
>>153520425
Same, though this site is missing a lot of stuff but it's nice to have a neat site like this.
>>153520449
Wasn't it? Didn't Senjougahara mention it in her last phone conversation with Kaiki?

Have yourself be in two places at once.
Why do other women like this series so much? Even if you ignore the harem part, the protagonist is all-but-despicable. I would understand men finding it relatable to their wishful thinking and projection, but makes no sense to me in the case of women. Would any care to break open my (in this particular case) closed mind?

So what oddity powers does Ougi actually have? As far as I can remember that has been translated from the LNs it's said she has matter creation which explains stuff like her changing genders (or her being an oddity could change genders, I don't know) and 1-3 being created and she has a smaller version of the regenerative blood Shinobu has, but what other powers does Ougi actually have? Mind reading? Clairvoyance? Power of suggestion?
>>153524239
from what i remember, she basically has any bs shinobu has but a bit less powerfulbut if youre asking specifically about how she knows the shit she does about others, like kanbaru's period and the other stuff, its probably never going to be revealed. i doubt nisio even actually thought of how she does it.
>>153524654
I know it's mentioned in the LN thatShe has the powers of Seishirou and whatever oddities that were at the shrine when he absorbed it, like the power to make barriers, the power to make people lost, etc. Here are a couple excerpts that made me wonder about what she can do:
She’s a hybrid of various monsters, one that can bring about almost any kind of supernatural phenomenon—so there’s no shame in being utterly outmatched by her.
Having been born through the First, who could very well have been considered a manifestation of all the oddities in this town, even her wealth of knowledge was on par with a monster—but then again, it seems her stats were so far off the charts that it took an according amount of time for her to master her own abilities.
>>153524239
I'd argue she definitely has memory-based abilities given she explicitly sets off two plots by making people remember Sodachi and Numachi.
Also she just told Kanbaru she's a dude and Kanbaru went along with it even though she herself had doubts and then just brushed it off without a second thought as if Ougi had been a dude the entire time.
>>153522756
Araragi has some of his bad moments but some of his good moments are really good, such as his speech about accepting Sodachi's hate.
>>153522756
I agree. I think he's full of shit and I can't believe anything he says. But I tolerate him because the rest of the characters are great.

Ougi isn't just some dark reflection trying to make him face the things he's hiding from/trying to not face and brush under the rug.
She's essentially something to Araragi like Pyramid Head is to James in Silent Hill 2. She represents his guilt and regret over things he feels subconsciously or otherwise that he's fucked up, and that he might believe he needs to be punished for.
This generally takes the form of isolating him by taking his friends and close ones away from him, since it's supposed to be ironic given his growth from his initial broken mindset of "having friends takes way your strength as a Human' or what have you.
Her machinations rob him of Mayoi, which should have been a permanent thing. They rob him of Nadeko and change her into a active psychopath.
The whole thing with Tadatsuru's REAL goal was to rob him of Ononoki, since the setup making her kill Teori was supposed to make RRRG see her as a monster/kaii and have one or both of them go "we can no longer be friends now that you've seen the truth", but Yotsugi said "fuck that". It failing was when Araragi acknowledges that 'someone' has been plotting against him for weeks/months.
Additionally, depending on how the above plans went through he 'could' have lost Shinobu and Senjougahara. And technically, he did re-lose Math again.

Except he isn't a hero, he's just a former recluse in an absurd lifestyle thanks to his break of indifference one time.
