That's really up for debait. It would be compleetly true if Herb didn't have the same hair color in both his male and female forms. However, Ranma, Herb, and that monkey Herb threw in the cursed spring, all had the same body type and face. So, its all really inconsistent.

Pretty sure Ranm's hair is supposed to be black as a girl since his girl half gets easily confused for his boy half when characters look at him/her from behind. If his girl side had a different color from the beginning, he would be easily distinguishable the moment he transformed.

This also gets more confusing since Romiko had a propensity for changing the hair and eye colors of her characters in her beginning years.

Ranma couple rankings:

Male Ranma/female Ranma> Ryouga/female Ranma = Ryouga/Ukiyo> every other pairing combination> shit > Ranma/Akane

I'm more mad about how Takahashi ruined Ryoga/Ukiyo. More than Ranma ending with Akane.

I really wanted to fully support them for years but logically they make about as much sense as Ranma/Akane. Ukyo can't stand Ryoga for being a complete dipshit and Ryoga only views her as an opportunistic woman who wants to fuck his rival.

That being said however, unlike Ranma and Akane, I do find their dynamic at least interesting and on a superficial level, they look much better together then R/A did (after the hair incident anyway)

The most compelling reason I see to have them together though is that Ryoga/Ukyo is 100 times better then the canon alternative of Ryoga/Akanr. I mean, at least Ukyo was a fucking character with an established personality outside of just liking Ranma. Nothing like that could be said of Akari, who was literally created to be Ryoga's love interest and nothing else.
