In the game Sorey outright rejected Alisha. As for the anime, they're now rumors of a sequel with Sorey, so the chances of him ending up with Alisha have been effectively killed once again. If the anime tries to go against this, then it'll do nothing but prove that it isn't canon.

Cheria and Asbel are canon. So are Rutee and Stahn. There's a few one-sided crushes too (Jude and Milla, Mint and Cress). It's not the norm but they have happened.

But Alisha is not a contender. Even considering how far the anime has deviated from the game, I don't think they'll make them canon. We'll just get a non-committal ending with Meebo long after the humans are dead again.

A sequel would be cool if it was the best of Berseria and Zesty's cast together. I haven't quite finished Berseria yet but I've heard the implications of the ending plus side material stuff strongly hint at another game. Wonder if they'll go through with it or just sweep anything Zesty-related under the rug to be forgotten? Berseria was in development with Zesty so they kind of had to release it, but they have no such commitments for a third game in it setting. Then again, I heard they wanted Zesty to be the start of a series of games in that world... who knows? Only Bamco.

Ironically the anime's dallying around and not having a plot may just render it non-canon, becuase none of the shit with Alisha and Rose matter as far as the world is concerned.

But yeah the game was subtly building up the idea that Sorey wasn't interested in her like that.

Sorey had a problem with relying on other people not named Mikleo anyway. They got excited over history together a few times but it was always from different perspectives; Sorey as a historian and Alisha as a worshiper. Good comrades-in-arms but not couple material.

Which boards are these anon? Certainly not pixiv and twitter. The only Alisha ship that popular is RosexAlisha. SoreyxAlisha is a minority even smaller than RosexSorey.

I really hate how the final fight ended up being in the game.

Rose fought so hard for Sorey, did so much for him even before this all happened (she was the person that got him into the sanctuary in the first place, which started Sorey's whole adventure as a shepherd) and was absolutely prepared to die alongside him if that was to be their fate.

Sorey cutting her off basically broke all the development they had (Sergei not doubting that they were married, Sorey being the light while Rose was his shadow, their impulsiveness in helping each other out no matter what happens). They basically completed each other, but the whole thing went to shit just because Sorey wanted an "I AM THE HERO OF THIS STORY LUL" moment.

You can tell that Rose never even got over it and ended up fighting alone until she died of old age.

They had ONE job.

Whenever he interacted with Alisha it was always about how Alisha needed help or cheering up, and in the game they didn't have much in common to hold a conversation. With Rose it's slightly better but again Sorey and Rose don't have much in common most of their interaction is them interacting with a third party (mostly Edna or Mikleo) they actually rarely speak each other personally. Doubly so in the anime where Sorey takes a back seat and is forced to be a joyless moralfag for Rose to play off of.

Actually that's a bunch of bullshit. It was the head writer who literally decided from the very start not to pair up Sorey and Alisha. In fact Sorey was created with that purpose in mind. If Alisha was ever meant to be the love interest and let's be honest, there's no indication of that, then her being pushed back to being a side character wouldn't have effected that.

This is really obvious in the game since most of Soery and Alisha's interactions fall flat. They were created to be a bad match. The idea that Alisha was originally the main heroine and be important to the plot is an idea that is being shot to hell by the anime itself. Her screen time was increased and yet because of that there is no plot, and even has to bend over backwards to keep her around.
