Ok I'm glad caught this thread because there's something that's been weighing on my mind for the last two chapters. In chapter 132 page23 Fate launches into a huge spiel about immortality and artificial evolution, with plan to use Touta and make everyone immortal. I can't imagine what the point of that is unless they're planning to go back into the past and make class 3A immortals and leave them in Eva's resort or something.

You also missed the opposition part. There's two major villains (Chao and Fate) who are very clearly depicted to be doing literally nothing wrong and half of Negi's issue with fighting Chao is that to be completely fair her goal is more noble than Negi's - Negi just doesn't want to be turned into a goddamn ermine. Fate is depicted as kind of an ass about it but his goal is definitely still noble; Negi's justification comes from "but I have a better idea".

I think Ken wasted a lot of potential making UQ Holder a continuation of Negima. He has interesting ideas with a varsity of immortal casts, but they can't reach their potential since they are stuck in a sequel for Negima. Ken should have done a several to thousand years timeskip instead and have allusions to Negima stuff in passing or through descendants. Eva should still be around and other immortals though, but their roles should be secondary to the main cast except for Eva.

Yeah, he's really just written himself into a big mess. Negima is full of dangling threads, and now he's created a bunch of new ones which he is also abandoning. UQ is kind of a mess right now, and I'm not sure even Akamatsu himself is really sure where he wants to go with any of it.

Thing is, everything he used was already introduced way earlier with the possible exception of Super-class magic. I don't think it counts as plot armor so much as a demonstration that, yes, he's actually good at fighting, using tools already dropped. In a sense the difference between "bullshit plot armor" and "not plot armor" is if it feels like certain things came out of nowhere just for this occasion, a feeling that can be greatly lessened if you mention all the things he's going to do a volume earlier.

The cash shop usage wasn't shown either until Shalltear's battle. Ainz Ooal Gown still have treasure and other WC items that we haven't seen yet, so those can still be used when the time is right.

Negima's magic system hasn't even really been terribly relevant since the post-festival training arc; at this point, characters using magic aren't distinguishable from any other manga/anime where characters have special abilities they call out the name of when they use them. I mean, since when have Pactios, the partner system, potions, spell elements, incantation length, etc, been in any way important to the story or battles? Heck, a lot of that is irrelevent in-universe since much of it can just be cast as "apps" on your phone (oh hey, another concept that he's not touch on and has dropped...).

Plot armor isn't need when dealing with less than level 100 beings, but it's a different matter for those close to his level and strength. It counts when he can use items to get by, so in that way he can win with the help of plot, be it something that's already foreshadowed, hinted at, kept in reserved, or a sudden twist.

I don't remember, but even though Ainz is OP'd as hell and is their leader, some of the NPCs can overwhelm him even with full standard gear. Ainz should be able to drag it out and maybe come out fine if he used all WC items at his disposal though.

Plot armor is plot armor no matter how well-crafted the writing is because the MC has to survive. Circumstances will favor him to ensure that. That doesn't mean the MC can't lose, but he sure as hell will be alive and well.
