It was never a mental thing for me, but a price thing. I never understood why people would spend so much on a figurine. That said, I personally would never spend money on something like a Funkopop. But at the same time, something more than $30/40 sounds a bit excessive.

Forgive me if it's in the sticky and/or I'm a retard, but is there any sort of good source for just knowing about what official materials have come out for a particular series? Books in particular. The show's website doesn't always list everything, and the studio's shop is usually just as bad.

For example, how does one find out about the existence of something like the Madoka Key Animation Notes other than keeping up with the news? How does one do it post-facto? As another example, something -really- obscure, Sora no Woto's Settings Material (設定資料集) wasn't even in the news on its website.

There have to be some committed Japs managing a webpage or something somewhere, right? I'm not talking necessarily about tiny things like postcard bonuses or whatever, but actual books.

My Saber Alter arrived today. It's my first figure from Alter and it's amazing.

The sword doesn't feel as secure as I'd like, I've been trying to push down her torso down but it doesn't go any further.

There's also a tiny spot where the decal on the dress design is peeling off, though it's not very noticable. Sorry if it's hard to see, bad phone camera.

They used a really smooth paint for her back and it feels nice. I heard they did something special with Lala's skin, but I don't know if it's the same effect.

The colors and base look way better in person. The base is kind of like a dark red magenta and goes along nicely with the figure.
