They say it's the most powerful magic in the world so it's probably something akin to meteor swarm, except it's just one blast
So instead of 2d6 + 6d6 of damage 4 times it's 32d6 of damage at once, including the fact that it apparently draind hp as well it's probably 40d6 with the last 8d6 being hp drain from the caster
So yeah, it's better to not bring her in a dungeon

They specifically say there is no pressure wave (explosion) from the fireball and that it is just heat, and therefore it would be safe to use indoors. The only problem is the area of effect was greatly miscalculated in first edition (33,000 cubic feet) and later editions changed this to just a 20' radius.

Even outdoors 1st edition fireball spell covered an impossibly huge area and made it uselss for combat. Most people used house rules to make it a more practical spell.

There's a hybrid mage/fighter class called Mystic Knight, they can use staves for spells as well as swords and magic shields. Great Cannon is OP as fuck.

Magic Archer is best though, they can use both levitate and double jump, staves, daggers (which have some great movesets), and magic bows have a skill for every occasion except golems

How could she be used in dungeons? Wouldnt her explosion just hit the surface?

Dungeon's of Dredmor has an explosion mod on the steam workshop. Fully upgrade, it pretty much one shots any enemy in the game and destroys entire floors of the dungeon.

DoD is something I would recommend regardless, however. One of the best roleplaying experiences I've had in a long time, whilst also being tough as shit.
