MC has a childhood friend. She's plain, sort of shy, and can't speak up for herself. It's hinted that she might have a crush on MC.

MC has known ever since the two of them met. He doesn't like her that way, and never has, because he's not into girls like that. However, he feigns interest in her and strings her along because he likes watching her think he cares about her that way. As soon as she's out of earshot, he can't get enough of how stupid and predictable she's been throughout their interactions together. This has gone on throughout middle school and early high school.

But this isn't about that girl. That girl is a side gag in MC's actual story, where he ends up in a relationship with a girl on his wavelength and their adventures fucking around together as a couple.

Once MC's girlfriend figures out about the side gag, her first response is... joining in, pretending she's in a love triangle with the plain girl, but laughing with MC about it as soon as she leaves the room. Again, this is a rarely occurring side-gag in the pair's relationship.

Endgame of the series still has MC and his girlfriend living the life together. Childhood friend-chan is a footnote in the epilogue where MC speculates she lived a joyless, mediocre life.

After graduating highschool, a guy joins the JGSDF because of some earthquake/disaster relief thing that he experienced in his childhood which made him want to be like the people who helped him back then.
However, upon finishing basic training he finds out that the rest of his unit is somewhere between stages 3 and 4 of pic related. While he tries to remain idealistic and to a certain extend naive about his job, the rest of his comrades genuinely don't seem to care much about what they are doing.
This leads to the MC doubting his decision and asking himself if all of this really was a good idea. In the end there would be a redeption arc where some kind of natural disaster happens and what they are doing really matters for once. As it turns out, all of them can pull through do a pretty good job when it really counts.

It would mostly be a SoL comedy with the main amount of comedic effect coming from their everybody's stupid shenanigans/genuine fuckups with the MC being a perpetually more disillusioned and towards the end somewhat cynical straight man.

One day, bullshittery happens and they find themselves flung through time and space into 1870s Japan, when the last of the samurai held against the modernization of the country. Finding themselves in the middle of a country split by war and politics, they soon ally themselves with the samurai due to their preconceived romanticized notions of the samurai, much to the chagrin of the history otaku(who acts as a sort of guide for the rest of the characters who are all fairly history illiterate).

After that, they betray the samurai because of the backwards and xenophobic brutality of the samurai, and begin to assist the Imperials with their modern knowledge and training in their respective fields(ie, the girl in medicine begins to try and modernize Japan's knowledge on healthcare and such, whereas the engineer student helps them develop more sophisticated weapons and infrastructure with her knowledge)

both the government and samurai could be shown in a neutral and sympathetic light, both with legitimate gripes against the other and good points about the flaws of each other.

Essentially, the moral of the show would be to balance tradition with innovation; respecting the past but always forging a new future.

Also, time travel culture shock and meeting your ancestors shenanigans would abound(ie, one of the girls is related to a samurai, another to a Imperial officer, disagreements and differences ect ect)

The concept of currency is not to be taught. The society breaks into classes based on the amount of repeating digits at the end of your number. People with single digits are sent into slavery. In 2220, a group of alien civilizations had rebelled against the Galactic Parliament and launched multiple insurrections against planets who are members of the Galactic Parliament.

One of these planets in particular is a multi climate planet known as Madinah, considered sacred to many of the rebelling species. A human fleet is tasked by the Galactic Parliament to take back the planet, coming face to face with the rebel warlord Hudmmad who had grown tired and fed up with the Galactic Parliament's mistreatment of his species, not unlike how they treat the humans

The anime thus follows a group of human marines as they fight in the war to retake Madinah.

I had another idea for this thread. An idea conceived a long time ago:

Humanity is portrayed as divided in their views of alien civilizations and the Galactic 'EU'. Some don't like the aliens to begin with but see participation in the Galactic Parliament as a way to prevent war with the multitude of alien worlds that already looked down on human-like species to begin with. Some humans would see membership in this galactic 'EU' as unwise due to xenophobia. Then others see the need to end xenophobia and focus more on integration. From the aliens POV, humanity is backwards and less intelligent then them. The first contact with the Galactic parliament came due to the earth government intending to take over an alien occupied planet, ending with an uneasy peace treaty where the planet is divided between the alien natives and humans and human assimilation into the Galactic parliament.

While the human soldiers intend to take out the main villain, some would end up defecting to his side due to solidarity with him. Initially, the human commanders intend on taking out the villain as a show of force and a sort of warning against any ridicule or anti human policies by the Galactic Parliament.

MC himself would be torn between siding with the villian and taking him out.

Anime about a person who just finished university and is going into the work force.

The place he works at is very professional, and most people don't talk to each other very much. Unlike most work anime, he meets no one there.

After quickly becoming dissatisfied with his work is reminisces about how much he enjoyed playing <insert sport here> when he was younger.

He decides to spend his time after work playing in a community league for this sport.

He is a very competitive person and quickly realizes that he is much better than most of the people on this community team, and requests to play on the adults competitive team for the sport, and he obliges to play.

However it becomes quickly apparent that he is not the best player, and there is no chance in hell of him becoming the best. The point of the show here is to explore the concept of trying to do your best even though you know you can't be the best. Try to answer the question "Why try if you can't win?' She explains that a strange meteor, able to wipe out everything, if its power is used, has landed in the specific instance of the 21st century in the future, and that many beings are trying to reach for it, either for desire of power or for fearing for their own lives, and there is no one there who is aware of it or who can stop them, not even another demon-human. And so the boy joins the girl and a whole bunch of other characters from different times and different worlds with different powers, as they stop the threats in waves, one-by-one, and become stronger and stronger as their foes become stronger as well. Also random asspulls, characters dying in the same arc they are introduced or not dying until the end of the series, and "this isn't even my final form".

Many viewers would not be aware that it is a parody and would think it is serious business, particularly the OPM crowd, and would eat that shit up, until the end where the final boss breaks the 4th wall and announces to his audience that he has the power to cancel the show if he wants to, which he does. The end.

Who needs to watch anime when you can daydream your own anime in your head

At several points on Earth, gateways open up to a fantasy world.
At some, armies from Earth try to invade the other world, and at others, armies from the other world try to invade Earth. But in all cases, the defending side ultimately succeeds.

The anime takes place five years after some crossworld non-aggression and trade/passage treaties. Since the gate locations aren't rigidly equal distances on both worlds, and due to quirks of geography, it can be a lot faster or easier or safer for travel in one world to cut across part of the other.

Male lead is a veteran of the crossworld wars and runs a general store / inn / bar at a passthrough highway in Colorado - an isolated gate-to-gate road. He deals with day to day issues of fantasy traders, adventurers, mercs, and bandits all passing through. It seems episodic, but there's also a political backstory on a slow buildup on the Earth side.

Every other episode, there's about five minutes of the B cast: male lead's opposite number running a similar store at a similar passthrough route in the other world, an ex merc that is now learning how to deal with the problems of bussloads of Japanese schoolkids passing through on school trips. It seems like a series of quick jokes, but there's a demon lord crisis story on a slow buildup on the fantasy world side.
