It's not even good for it's edge, the plot bends in hilariously cheap ways just to try and be dark, and when it does not only do they pussy out of showing the more edgy stuff but the gore is very poorly done, the artist has little grasp of proper anatomy and most of the time it's just people getting sliced up which is probably the single most generic form of "extreme" violence in anime, you can see stuff like that in almost any shounen. And that's basically what it is, a really shitty shounen that thinks it's a mature seinen series for adults because it has death and rape in it.
