Look, its not that out of character. We know Gin gets shit faced drunk on a semi regular basis and unfortunately a common side effect of that is blacking out. You do things you otherwise wouldn't, lowered inhibitions and all that. Madao was probably equally as drunk and they somehow ended up in bed together. What they did or did not do is left up for the viewer to decide though Madao seems to imply that they went pretty far. When they wake up the next morning both are too ashamed to talk about it or bring it up (which is a 100% normal reaction) and instead act like it never happened so neither of them probably know exactly what happened either. Its not weird and it doesn't change who the characters are. Its actually a situation that happens often irl.
