This manga is so weird, in a way. We've seen these characters in so many chapters and situations, and most of them have the presence of air. They're there, but so unnoticeable and without impact. Nobody can give a fuck about the guy who gets stupid when he uses electricity, or the red-haired guy who's straight-forward and gets hard in battle. For instance Class 1B. There's no point in having them anymore. They were "supposed" to be a comparison point for Class A but that never happened even at the Sport Festival. Then the gap just kept growing and growing and now they're just fucking cannon fodder.
The issue with this is that Hori wasted 20 fresh designs (and concepts) which could've been better at Class A, Shiketsu, Ketsubutsu or older versions as teachers, pro heroes or villains.
This means that with every new character (design + concept) introduced Hori comes closer and closer to the limits of the human imagination so the risk of becoming an absolute hack increase exponentially. The line is too thin.

Ive been saying that the combined class for 1-A and 1-B and the villains getting serious is the perfect chance to trim the fat and get rid of some of the useless characters, while showing that the villains mean business.

Kimetsu and Neverland are different tho. One is a sci-fi/horror "Peter Pan" and the other is a Taisho era version of "Supernatural". Their tones are totally different from HeroAca. And that's pretty ironic considering the risks of the hero profession in the BnHA universe but well...

It is still early, it's only the start of their second semester. If one of the kids was going to die, I think having it happen towards the end of the year would be a good time to do it. That way you could have a natural introduction of new students for next year.

Now considering that it was Hori's plan all along having the students teaming up he should've made the teams more evident. It's clear than Deku and Bakugo have theirs but what about the rest?

If Hori proceed with the fall of the hero society the next step is having another major change within U.A. Maybe some event that would force half of the Class A and B to disappear. There could be deserters, deaths, major injuries, transfers and some going for other departments from the same school. There are a shit ton of stuff that can be done without being a fucking hack.
