Has anyone else been getting Bebop/Champloo vibes from this? I don't think it's as good all around as either of those but the episode structure keeps reminding me of Watanabe

Good cop show in the edo period. I've seen people complaining about the animation, but I think they are being real smart with their budget. It still looks nice.

Comfy af. It's nothing ground-breaking, that's for sure, and the stories are a bit formulaic, but I think that it's well-done and entertaining. Great if all you want is some old-fashioned samurai drama.

IMO the CG is absolutely disgusting and breaks immersion. I'd much rather have poorly animated 2d background characters than poorly animated 3d background characters.

They are only used for crowd scenes I think though. Anyone that has to do something is usually animated.

But I just meant that I'd rather have poorly drawn, undetailed 2d characters in crowd scenes than CG crowd scenes because they break immersion for me. It just feels so out of place in the show. Its not big enough deal to make me not enjoy Onihei obviously, but it's probably my least favorite part of it. There are some anime that can pull of CG well, but this definitely isn't one of them.

I don't know anything about 2d/3d animation but is it really easier to make a 3d model for background instead of drawing them?
