While it is amazing that Japan has been able to retain its culture, a lot of it already is taken over by western concepts. Baseball is their national sport now, animation is loved almost as much as live action, they wear western clothes (even stuff the west gave up long ago), country and pop music stars from America are selling more tickets to Japanese concerts than in America, etc.

Some years ago, I studied abroad in the magical land of nips with a bunch of other international students. And somehow, someway, one of "those guys" managed to slip through the cracks.

One of those socially retarted fuckwads that came to Japan explicitly to find a japanese waifu and bask in anime glory. The mother fucker actually cosplayed on a regular basis, in public, and in class. And because this was Japan, nobody ever said anything about it. The greasy haired fuck was the epitome of cringe, spouting off anime one liners and striking poses and shit. I seriously wondered why they never implemented a psych evaluation before sending students overseas.

Eventually, they booted him out of the school for poor attendance or grades or some shit, but in reality, I think they finally got proof of him stealing the girl's panties from the washing machines (another one of his favorite conversational topics) and booted him back to the states.

Now heres the kicker. Apparently, the greasewad had somehow tricked/smuggled his way back into Japan, outlined a manga story under a pseudonym, hired a pinoy artist to draw it, and managed to get serialized.
