Kirakira's off to a really good start, it's so cute and girly and fun. I'm really liking Ichika, and Himari was cute too. The battle was really good this episode, and I love them incorporating animal traits into their fighting style. Can't wait for Gao next episode.

I don't know about what exactly was posted here, but the guy I saw the info from is usually one of the first to spread Precure news to the English-speaking fans. And /pc/ hates him? It was from some Bandai report.

Also it should be noted that Precure's target demographic was originally 5-6 year olds. At some point it lowered down to 3-4 year olds, hence why Bandai eventually got Toei to tone down the villains and change the fighting style this year.

In any case, a more childish tone isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Best ending, I'm not 100% sure of, the fight with Deusmast was quite weak to be fair. and Deusmast itself was a lacklustre final boss.

Best Epilogue, easily the best in the franchise. That really doesn't mean much in the scheme of things when most other series only dedicate about 3-5 minutes at most to an epilogue while Maho dedicated nearly 2 thirds of the "final" episode to it, but as a culmination of the overall storyline and toying quite heartbreakingly with the worst case scenario with Mirai.

As a lot of people said post episode 49, who would have assumed that people would have ended up crying for fucking Mirai

if you liked precure *primarily* because of the fights, then you were doing it wrong. good fights are extremely rare in precure, they take up a very small portion of the running time, and usually are badly animated and consist of no-weight no-impact punching where it doesn't look like it would even hurt, and stock footage beamspam. good fights are a bonus in precure, not something that should be taken as a given.

Let me play the devil advocate here and say that little girls and grown up men don't have that much different opinions for a good fight in Precure. Of course, little girls will like things cuter than grown up men, but overall, the same thing applies for both. If the fight is important for the character both will like it, if the fight is well animated both will like it, if the fight is meaningful both will like it, and so on.
Also, while it is true little girls care less about the technical details, they will still notice when fights are more worked than others simply because they look better. Little girls notice the difference as well.

Am I the only one who thinks that KiraKira feels way too childish even for Precure? For the first time I actually felt like I was watching a show aimed at 3-year-olds - it literally had nothing but bright colors, shitty jokes and cooking. Ichika's mommy issues were interesting to watch, but everything else was borderline insufferable. Compared to this, the first episode of Maho was a fucking masterpiece.
Hopefully it gets better soon, otherwise I don't I will be able to force myself through it.

I do think the show has changed tone and it is leaning towards children more than before - but to say it's "too childish" is a subjective judgement with a negative tone. What I think has happened recently is that while Precure was originally Toei merging its DBZ staff with its Little Girl Shows staff to make something unique, now the DBZ staff is back with Super, and Toei is now separating both audiences again. Super for the ones who want fights, and KiraKira for the little girls who just want a show for them. The strategy of unifying both audiences worked well for a decade, but Precure ratings have been dropping consistently for a few years now. Not that I can tell for certain that KiraKira will revert it, but a formula change was needed. KiraKira feels more like Doremi and preDoremi shows because it is Toei going back to the strategy of that era.
