I should probably stop at some point.

If the right owners don't want to make a new game I hope we'll at least get a couple of fangames.
Even a simple 2D platformer could be great if it includes the most charming aspects of the show: solving the problems of cute and retarded animal girls, in different environments and with a light-hearted tone.
It could even be possible to use the events of the anime almost as is, then just couple them with exploration, item finding, puzzle games etc.

It's hard to say since they avoid showing multiple Friends of the same species, so there no way to know how they handle aging. The original mobile game also seemed to take place shortly after the animals started becoming Friends. We don't really know the situation in the anime at this point, even though people speculate they've been turned into girls for a long time.

If you count the tie up of the original mobile game at least though, we do know that it turned 4 adult and 1 teenage alien into 5 teenage-like girls with no visible difference in their age, so it does seem to mess with aging.

Nah. Even before failing, it was clearly low budget. The show has better backgrounds than the game and each character only had like 6 lines of voice acting - with only one sound bit for battles (attack quote when using their special attack) and no story recordings at all. All the text was just plain text, without even generic sound bits accompanying it.

A part of me feels that'd backfire. Level designs are what kills JP game producers as they're a lot of work and time required that can pan out into a poor investment.
I think it'd be best if, from a work-profit-quality balance, they went the route of merging FGO with Kancolle and just made a story-driven background to a resource-gathering gatcha game.
There's less chances to be disappointed that way.

It makes sense from a business standpoint. We're only five eps in with no ability to predict the long term (or even month-long) popularity of Kemono Friends.

Creating or rebooting a game takes tons of work and money to set up the servers, get all the moderators and IT people ready, etc. Making a new game would take even more time and money.

As far as we know now, Kemono Friends won't and should not be rebooted as a game; they can make further decisions on where to go by gauging mid-season or better, end of season's popularity to see if it's worth riding that at the end for a new game.

To do so sooner would be putting out crap that could very well kill the game as an obvious cash-grab.

The series is very comfy and at the same time mysterious. There's a post-apocalyptic world of desolation and abandoned buildings interspersed with open untamed wildlands. Filled with cute, helpful, innocent girls who just want to make others happy.

It's amazing. It's everything Nyanko Days should have been for me in comfiness, and yet the cuteness feels comfortable and unforced (unlike how all the cute girls in Touhou are cute but brutally eat human flesh).
