What's the best option for watching anime on Linux? I have mpv media player right now. Is that what most people use? I'm used to using MPC-HC on windows, and mpv doesn't seem to even have options for things like turning subtitles on or off. Or if it does, I don't know how to access them.

You use shortcuts to control mpv, or you could install SMplayer and use it as frontend.

Default MPV is all you need and it's easy to use the shortcuts like FP said.
But if you use Windows then just use MPC.
