It's very occult focused. Shit gets substantially more surreal with Japanese occultism compared to Western European.

I guess I can understand how you are confused. The start of the first episode is telling of the series as a whole. The very first (panty) shot is mostly meaningless if you don't have context, Then there is a montage of other scenes from Kizu, that you will not understand until you have watched the movies. Then it is a scene of a new girl falling in what looks like slow motion, and then being caught. After that, for the 3rd time, we cut to a new scene without understanding the significance of the previous one, with the guy and girl from the first scene. All the while there are title screens popping up with text you don't know if you were really expected to read.

Later on in the series it gets even more confusing with it's non chronological plot, that actually requires you to keep an idea of the chronology of events. They also will make references to events that you will not have seen yet, and you will not know for sure what they are talking about or if you are supposed to know what they are talking about (Like references to Kizu). Add to all that that lots of (all) information is conveyed through dialogue, in a different language, and generally it isn't slow dialogue, and sometimes what they are saying only works in Japanese. It will get confusing at time.

Still one of my favourite series for some reason. I could clear up somethings if you are curious, and I won't treat you like a retard like other people in this thread.

rosario+vampire was my first harem manga. and after seeing what is about I assume all harem works are like that and never touched one. So you are right when saying I don't watch or read harem, because when I do I can see in the first few episodes the mc are just some pussies and drop them. This was not the case with monogatari which I started after enjoying katanagatari
