That'd be a pretty nice strawman right there if it wasn't for the fact that I've been criticizing styling and typesetting on prosubs for basically the last decade. Translation and consistency (in terms of delivery) are pretty much the only two aspects where professional subs manage to do at least decently, while on everything else they've consistently lagged behind fansubs forever.

These days, yellow subs usually mean that a product has such a wide intended audience that they're even targeting people who still use CRTs. However, something like Urara doesn't have that, so it just means that the typesetter is a retard.

The average watcher is allergic to them. When their only source of official subs only offers whose piss subs, it makes sense that they'll lose all potential interest they had in those series.
Not saying that I like them either (although it's mostly only because they're usually hardsubs as well), but their existence isn't enough to drive me away from a show.
