Actually, relooking at the chapters now, Rod could have been lying about the specifics of what happened.
Eren only had flashes of memory of what happened in chapter 62, and in chapter 63 Rod fills in the gaps.
But from this latest chapter we know he was at least partly lying. Grisha did give information about who he was, and it didn't seem like he was initially planning to steal the coordinate. He pleaded with Frieda first.
Maybe the memory Eren had in this chapter was of the events as they truly happened, and those events were different to the ones Rod said happened.

I can speak Japanese and the first translation is much more accurate. What Isayama is saying, is that Armin is still pure/innocent/childlike even after discovering his childhood dreams. He won't kill himself.
