They did, it isn't that it was so sudden for a story or character perspective but rather from a storytelling perspective. Most doujinka and mangaka make transitions for at least half the page. Funny how you can remove those two pages and nothing changes which adds to the feels "this was a last minute transition", that's why it was pretty funny for me rather than sexy. She was literally only there for Georgi's development and it's portrayed as a good thing and positive development that he got over her and again, even if it was only from Georgi's POV his POV is the only one that actually mattered plot wise and she wasn't portrayed well.

Mila's main role 90% of the time is related to Fairy. I'm not saying she doesn't exist as a person outside of that, but within the story that is her role as of now.
