Twist ending- Kasumi gets a brain tumour and collapses in the Band finals.

She gets taken to hospital when she finds out it's terminal.

Arisa can only watch as her baka gf becomes even dumber slowly losing her memory, her motor functions and the ability to eat.

Eventually, Kasumi dies but not before Arisa shares one final kiss with Kasumi.

Kasumi dies with a smile, she doesn't know who the 4 girls are around her but she knows she was loved.

I haven't seen much idol besides Love Live, but if that's representative of the quality of the genre as a whole, I think there could be much to gain from making better content. Make something actually good, and I think it could do well even in a saturated market.
