I have to say, it's definitely not a good manga, but it's not bad either. I mean it's really generic, but the pacing wasn't bad, the premise is dumb but still enjoyable and the characters albeit the obvious tropes have a little bit of charm.

Yeah, that said I hope this doesn't overstay its welcome like Nisekoi, it kinda has some potential to go some interesting directions with the characters' career choices and stuff, which is something that made Silver Spoon really interesting for me.

I'm really not sold on the premise at all. An entire series revolving around studying is far from interesting and the setup just had me rolling my eyes more than anything. If this thing is going to work it's going to be completely dependent on the cast and their interactions. The first chapter really didn't make the girls particularly likeable though that could change quickly. MC being poor and average makes him easy to root for and the art is cute so there's some potential. Right now though I just think its kinda dumb and not really endearing.

It's way different to Nisekoi's pilot (one-shot not withstanding). MC here atleast has an objective, a drive and has more personality in this chapter than Raku in the entirety of Nisekoi. The premise also has a clear endgame (university entrance tests), unlike Nisekoi in which "what the fuck is in the locket" and "stopping the Yakuza and Gangsters from fighting" are very much hazy premises that they can be milked to what its worth and changed to any whim (and it was).
The girls and the comedy will probably determine this series' lifespan, and I'm not really feeling it yet, unlike something like Kaguya, where we know it's just something that some people will like. Need to see the next few chapters to know.
