I just want the series to wrap up properly, LN wise and manga wise in terms of the original series. The main index manga skips around quite a bit but there's only 5 relevant arcs left to go over, some people say it'll end at the end of the Academy City Invasion Arc since that's where the anime ended but meh. At least go over the Dragon Arc since it was based around Touma. Accelerator & Railgun manga can go over the remaining arcs whenever that time comes, Battle Royal was mostly focused on Accelerator anyway.

And don't expect to see the Dragons anytime soon, IB is suppressing that shit way too hard.

I lost interest around that time too, the series had been losing steam since NT 4-5 but I thought it would recover in 2 or 3 volumes, Highschool DxD also had slow shit and it recovered to being fun stuff with punching shit but Index just never went back I guess, or maybe I just grew out the series in that time-span.

But yeah stuff like that is the reason why the anime will never be completed, nobody wants an entire cour wasted in 10 crappy volumes.

I disagree, NT4-10 were pretty damn good in my opinion. DxD was shit for vol 14-19, although the recent volumes have gotten better I guess.

My main problem with Index always was the fights, they're utterly boring because it's just Touma running like a retard and punching someone, I thought it would be cooler if Touma trained some special snowflake martial arts so his victories wouldn't feel like asspulls or repetitive since it's the same every fight but Kamachi never had Touma advance in that regard. Or maybe just normal martial arts dunno, make it feel more interesting, it's always the same shit Touma gives some generic speech and then he runs and punches de enemy.

It's not awful, it just feels like a filler arc with drips of actual plot in the epilogue of each volume. Kamisato was a cool idea but he wasn't interesting enough to carry 4 and a bit volumes about him. His harem was really hit and miss, leaning more towards miss. Yuiitsu also wasn't really a great villain, she was passable but not as good as any of the other multi-volume villains.

Kamachi keeps things fresh, for better or worse, because he tries something new almost every volume. But a lot of people don't like change, so that may seem like a negative to some.

Seems like it's pretty far up front to me. It's not necessarily a bad thing since it's it's own thing, but the mix of crazy just isn't to my taste. Index's strength (and weakness) is that Kamachi uses it as a testing ground for many of his ideas. It helps keep things fresh, and those ideas then tend to go on to be the primary focus of a different novel (like the crazy science being one of the major points of Heavy Object, or the three protagonist format being used in Zashiki Warashi.)

I don't think I agree with this. NT feels like a continuation of OT, however it felt like all the pieces were in place with NT13 to tell the magic god story. Introducing the Kamisato faction and all the new characters mostly makes me think how much hinting at development we get towards Touma, Mikoto ,Misaki and Index developed lately without anything actually happening. Now I do think I could change my mind when NT 22 comes out as it does feel a lot is being layed out, just that I would like it to get to it in the next year or two.
