I stand by my prediction that Index will get her memories back and return to Stiyl. The final epilogue will be Misaka confronting Touma once more on the bridge. Would be a great way to end it and leave some speculation, but Kamachi will certainly ruin it with supplementary novels like every other LN author does.

That is not true. He has chronic misfortune, but he's not "destined" to be unhappy. I think you have a misapprehension of Touma's "misfortune". He has been that way from his birth but his life hasn't been miserable like that. He just has a lot of bad luck, he can still make good choices though and he does.

I agree that he raises a lot of death flags though. But assuming that your idea of him being destined for unhappiness is true, then he will never die, because death would be the ultimate relief from that.
