Why are there no proper cowboy style gunslingers in anime? Is it because nips can't handle anything other than overpowered twinks?

Samurai's katana beats Cowboy's gun, it's science.

Due to extensive research done by the University of Pittsburgh, katana has been confirmed as the hardest metal known to man. The research is as follows. Pocket-protected scientists built a wall of diamond and crashed a katana car into it at 400 miles per hour, and the car was unharmed. They then built a wall out of katana and crashed a car made of diamond moving at 400 miles an hour into the wall, and the wall came out fine. They then crashed a katana car made of 400 miles per hour into a wall, and there were no survivors. They crashed 400 miles per hour into a katana traveling at diamond car. Western New York was powerless for hours. They rammed a wall of metal into a 400 mile per hour made of katana, and the resulting explosion shifted the earth’s orbit 400 million miles away from the sun, saving the earth from a meteor the size of a small Washington suburb that was hurtling towards mid-western Prussia at 400 billion miles per hour. They shot a katana made of diamond at a car moving at 400 walls per hour, and as a result caused two wayward airplanes to lose track of their bearings, and make a fatal crash with two buildings in downtown New York. They spun 400 miles at katana into broadsword per wall. The results were inconclusive. Finally, they placed 400 Dragonforce albums per hour in front of a car made of wall traveling at miles per diamond, and the result proved without a doubt that katanas were the hardest metal of all time, if not just the hardest metal known to man.

I always thought Jigen was kind of cowboy-like.
>>153049839
It's because Cowboys are Mexican/South American in origin. Japs don't really know what to do with that shit.
>>153049839
Because of Leone.
Because you watch anime.
>>153056544
The only good anime creators are the ones who watch it blindfolded. And Miyazaki, god someone needs to give him life extension technology.

God. I know /a/ hates on Cowboy Bebop simply because it's popular and they feel inferior because of how it gets taken more seriously than their kiddy porn anime ever will, but has there ever been anything like it since?
In style, animation and execution?
>>153068600
>/a/ hates Cowboy Bebop
Do we live in the same /a/, or are you just making /v/-style assumptions about popularity and enjoyment?
>>153068552
God damn, man I love more detail to character design in manga.
Usually Japs still to the easily manufactured facial design to pump out more crap.
>>153068664
I'll concede that it some times varies, but it gets consistently dismissed as "entry level" - as if anime was something to be proud to be into.
Personally I'm amazed every time I'm reminded it exists. It caters to me.
>>153068664
It's a contrarian thing, it's common to ALL of 4chan including /co/ and /tv/ and even in fucking porn.
I'M READY FOR SOME GUN SWINGIN' CUM SLINGIN' SONNOVA BITCH TO TEAR THIS TOWN APART.
WHAT SAY YOU, STRANGER?
>>153068855
This sounds like a reference to something
>>153049839

I have to disagree, and would argue that /a/ suffers from the "contrarian" issue a lot less than other boards as popularity never seems to factor into discussions - do we not have regular One Piece and Bleach threads? Or NGE threads? Isn't FMA widely beloved by /a/? Perhaps we've just been in different discussions, but the Bebop threads (rare though they are) that I've seen have always been pretty quality.
