A post-Soviet, Russian character refers to Russia in its sense as a republic. It's specifically not the 'Russian Federation'. Do you write it as "... the Russian Republic", which is technically inaccurate but clearer to the reader, or "... the Republic, Russia"? Or perhaps something else?

Here's some stuff I saved form the last thread:

For now on redrawing you should experiment with these tools:
Polygonal lasso tool (you can go back to your last "line" with the delete key)
You will use this to select specific parts of the image, screentones, color stuff, etc.

Healing brush tool
for copying screentones, it's not perfect but it's good enough
to use it
press ALT on the screentone that you want to replicate and drag the cursor over the place where you want to "paint"
(it will be more understandable if you use it yourself)
(also be sure to have it on "replace mode")

The brush, pencil and eraser.
these are pretty obvious

Blur tool and sharpen tool when you want some lines too look smoother or more intense.

Dodge tool
Makes things brighter

Burn tool
makes stuff darker

Pen tool
With this thing you will make most of the redraw lines, it's thickness and form it's defined by your BRUSH TOOL.

Line tool
To make straight lines, this one is not defined by your brush tool, so adjust it on the settings bar.

Always have a layer copy of the original page it's handier if you need to compare stuff.

Separate your stuff on groups (like layer directiories)

Just a little tip I always found useful when using the brush tool in photoshop, you can click once wherever you want to draw a line from, move your mouse into another position and then pressing shift and clicking will draw a straight line between those points. Really helps if you have to redraw a bookshelf or a window or something.

"Russian Federation" is ロシア連邦, "Russian Republic" is ロシア共和国.

The events in the manga take place after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, so it's very unlikely that he's referring to the Russian Commonwealth. Post-Soviet Russia is a republic, but it's not *called* a republic in its official name (in the same way that the DPRK is not called a dictatorship). However, Post-Soviet Russia is also composed of smaller, named republics (Chechnya, Dagestan, etc), so writing it as "the Russian Republic" means nothing.

Well, is there any particular reason why you specifically need to keep it as 'republic', such as reference being made to the governmental system outside of that one occurence of 共和国? It looks from the panel you posted that it mostly functions to make it a more impressive-sounding name than just 'Russia', in keeping with his diction. so you could just go for something that's similarly glorificatory but less likely to cause an ambiguity than 'republic', such as 'Mother Russia' 'our great Motherland, Russia' or somesuch.

Do you know the difference between raster and vector?

Illustrator is a vector editor that can also handle raster editing
Photoshop is a raster program that can also handle vector editing
Affinity Designer is a vector editor
Affinity Photo is a raster editor

Why is this relevant? Text output in Photoshop is vectorised until it is manually rasterised. The advantage of this, is that vector can be scaled to any size without pixelisation.

It's $9 for one program or the photography package. The whole Creative Suite is around $50 a month. There is no benefit for scanlators as the included extras are useless to them.
