Is there a single set of characters that had as big a turnaround both in terms of powerlevels and going from a annoying faggot to huge bros as Kanchome and Folgore?

Idk but I still cry everyteim while re-reading the manga.
>Kiyomaro's revival
>We can be a family
>HIPPO
>Umagon's backstory
>The final goodbye
Such a good ride.
While they were quick bros, it took almost the entire series for Kanchome to become legitimately overpowered. Of course, illusions are incredibly useful depending on how clever you are, which is the only reason they lasted so long, but you get my point. Either way, to answer your question: no, I don't think there is. I certainly can't think of any that come close.

Prince Hata
Is the Gash Bell anime a faithful adaptation? I watched some of it way back when the localized version was on Cartoon Network and I wanted to know if I should revisit it or just read the manga.

It's faithful enough until the ending (which is an anime original), but the manga's still better (and I'm not just saying that because it a thing). I enjoyed both, personally.

It has a few filler episodes here and there as you would expected and it doesn't cover the final arc of the manga so the ending is anime original, but I really liked hearing gash's seiyuu so there's that. The manga is obviously the optimal way to enjoy the story.
