It's one of those series that's good but not really all that memorable in the long run. Sure I like Mink, and sure I think the episodes are funny. Ending theme song is amazing too. But honestly I think this series needed a little more... something. I dunno, maybe it just needed a little more action a la Slayers. Or a little more romance, I just think it needed a little more stuff happening apart from the comedy. Maybe it gets more like that later in the manga, never read it myself.

I wish we lived in the alternate world where Dragon Half was as popular as DBZ, Slayers or something like that. As it is we got two pretty fun episodes, I guess it's better than nothing

That's a bummer. I just finished watching the episodes, and was struggling to find more. Read a shit ton of the manga, and assumed the show was obscure and there weren't any subs for it.

That's kind of a bummer, the anime (OVA, apparently?) was a really good adaptation, and was hoping for more. At least there's still the manga.

I just watched Dragon Half, I thought there was a scene in that show where the antagonist sings a weird kind-of rap song in the middle of a field of flowers

Does anyone know what that scene is actually from? I know it's from some random 2-episode OVA or pilot that never became a series

Look I'm not saying it NEEDED romance, heck that's why I said action first, I think the series would have been a bit cooler if the fights started goofy but became more huge and bombastic as the series went on. I only said romance because I think it needed something besides straight comedy. I just don't see Dragon Half working out as a long term anime series without something to shake up the formula, though I've felt that way about a couple other long running anime as well so I might be in the minority

This ED made me love eggs.

I've seen it, but it was completely forgettable. I used to listen to the ending theme, which was pretty good, and I remember a tournament arc we didn't see the end of, but that's it. Why would anyone praise this? It's not like it's terrible, but there is nothing about it that makes it worth remembering over any of the other short OVAs from that time.

The OVA is a cute and fun little time waster but not particularly memorable.

The manga is great and should be required reading for everyone, not to mention anyone only familiar with the OVA.

The art style change is unfortunate, cos I liked the knockoff Akira Toriyama look of the early part of the manga. But otherwise I agree, hugely underrated manga, wish there was more anime based on Dragon Half
