Right now the LN/Manga/Anime industry works by deconstructing (if you don't like the word deconstruction you can use the word twist).

The works consist into taking something "traditional" then add a surprising "twist".

What I find curious is that we never really got the "traiditional" stuff to begin with. I mean, there are lot of LN that are traditional fantasy with a twist, but there isn't much anime or manga with pure traditional fantasy, most are based on vidya.

The same way, there isn't even much Japanese works that include orcs, even less works where orcs and elves interact, this sort of thing can be find only in hentai. So its kind of weird seeing non-h parodizing it

People forget that anime, manga, and LNs are all a profit-driven exercise.
Its not a bunch of authors with "MUH ARTISTIC VISION" its a bunch of people who want to get paid, so they follow trends and duplicate what's successful.
Its the same reason why in the US you have different Hollywood movie studios all release movies with very similar plots at the same time. They are jumping on some perceived trend that they think will make money.
