When it comes to classic series, held in high regards, you guys always say:
>[Character] did nothing wrong
But I can't find this character in Evangelion.
After a day of finishing the series I feel like it's just a really elaborate trolling attempt
Is this just a coping mechanism?
First I was depressed
Then empty and now I just don't know if this was serious or just a giant prank.
Gendo did nothing wrong. He was the lowkey most pathetic character in the serie and he just wanted to reunite with his wife. He couldn't care less about the rest of humanity. literally.
It looks to me like you're lost. The Seele and Gendo both wanted instrumentality to happen but for different reasons and using different methods. What ended up happening is a mixture of both methods with Shinji in charge of the ordeal.
It might be a stupid anwser but I don't feel anything.
When watching the series, around episode 14 it left a hole in me that it never filled.
But now I feel like status quo has returned and everything is normal.Like before I watched it.
My neck feels a little bit thight.
It's also masterful how much it contradicts itself when it comes to philosophy.
Whenever I try to fix this tangle up mess it just gets more fucked up
>Find something that gives you happiness and do that
>But that would mean you run away from sadness
>Fleeing brings pain and suffering
>You don't want to suffer right?
>Then don't do just what brings you happiness
It's a mess and it's beautiful.
It doesn't really negate itself. There is a lot of classic German philosophy in Eva and it's confusing if you've never had any contact with it. Instead of sending you to read a series of books no one understands, I'd recommend watching Žižek's lecture on Christ and his two lectures on the Apocalypse. The material overlaps a lot with the material in Evangelion.
I read some philosophy.
The only problem with it was that all of it was chinese.
That said I saw some Wittgenstein and Hegel in Eva.(At least what I percieved as such)
For me it negated itself.
Returned to status quo and I couldn't have asked for more.
