Is it the same story as the anime? Finished, ongoing?

The anime is a butchery of the manga's story for the sake of cute dogs.

REMOVE DOG

It will take a very long time until there's enough content for a second season to be adapted.
Although the anime does have some anime original content and changes a few things, it's still mainly following the story in some way.
The sales for the anime discs were not that great, but apparently, the manga did receive some large increase in copies sold thanks to the anime, so there is a chance for a new adaptation in the future.
Still, it will take at least one or two years before the committee for it might even consider ordering a show to promote the manga again, simply because the mangaka doesn't work fast enough.
>>
>>152769529
So I'm guessing it's still ongoing.
Just how slow are we talking about?

How come? Other than beeing a dick at Miki for the majority of the show, he seemed like a part of the team.

The anime could have been great if they had made the dog talk like Kagamin.

>Season 2 when
Hopefully never. That fucking dog single-handedly killed off all discussion of the manga here as well.
>>
>>152772526
No, what killed off the discussion of the manga is that its release is slow and that the readers of it who tend to come to /a/ to discuss it don't like the current arc. That's all.
>>
>>152772553
I want to stick my dick into Shovel's cold, dead pussy.
>>
>>152772491
Well I remember that the nips really liked the first episode and the manga sales skyrocket like crazy. But after that it died like a plague.
>>
>>152772602
It's really simple. The hype dies down because manga releases are slow, because chapters are released in a monthly magazine, making this a very slow manga that you read and buy a little bit later.
>>
>>152769772
He's not wrong in that the anime takes a different approach from the manga though.

The anime is more hopeful and positive while the manga enters a sense of dread and thriller moments much more often with a thread of hope.

Also the most recent arc in the manga that follows after the anime is very TWD-like.
>>
>>152770888
>>152772715
That doesn't mean the anime was bad. I enjoyed it more than a direct adaptation too.
>>
>>152772747
The anime was bad.
>>
does the anime fallow close enough that i can read the manga were the anime left of if so what chapter would that be
>>
>>152772801
It doesnt, read it from the start
>>
>>152772747
Secondaries gonna secondary, I guess.

Still, the writing was pretty shit, they drew out the Megu-nee reveal way too fucking long to really make an impact, they completely skipped the helicopter part, letting out the future intrigue about rescue and EvilCorp, whatever their name was, with the experiments and all, and by god, fuck the dog.
>>
>>152770534
He was never meant to be a part of the team.

He's a one-shot character that gets bitten and has to be killed
>>
>>152772919
But the Megu-nee reveal scene was one of the few parts that I actually liked more in the anime, despite happening way too late in the game.
That BGM for it was creepy and well done as fuck.
Also I liked Yuuki's voice acting and the fanservice. Too bad the atmosphere was too relaxed compared to manga, but other than that a good show with some sad substantial skips.
>>
>>152772919
Eh, the helicopter part in the manga was bad, so I'm glad that it was cut out.
>>
the only good thing about this series is the manga artist
>>
>>152772989
I actually enjoyed it more in the manga, though the fanservice is always appreciated. One of the manga's strong points and the main appeal of the series is basically, somewhat gritty zombie survival with cute girls, so the relaxed atmosphere ruined it a lot. But then again, that's only because of the expectations I had from the manga, that's better, etc, etc.

TL;DR, the scroll was better.
>>
>>152772997
>bad
>them having a sliver of hope cut down and having Yuki man up while Yuuri had a mental break down

It was much more interesting than the way they approached it.
>>
>>152772919
The Megu-nee reveal was the best part of the anime though. Its one of the few things that i think was better than the manga because in the manga its really not much of a reveal.
>>
>>152773267
>its really not much of a reveal
So how is the anime one better when they beat the horse until it was dead and then some for the reveal there? At least in the manga it came quickly and with a bit less expectation, in the anime it was clear as day for 2-3 whole episodes that, gasp, Megunee is not actually alive. Not to mention that huge flashback episode in the middle of fucking nowhere. Christ, the more I remember about the show, the more I realize how bad it was.
>>
>>152773302
You just didn't like it because you of course already knew about the "tweest" and wanted it to get over it as quickly as possible.
>>
>>152773302
It was bad as a reveal for watchers in the anime, sure, but the scene itself was still amazing. The reveal (not to us, but Yuuki) worked and the scene had a nice impact.
>>
>>152769234
Man, this show was such a fucking disappointment. The first episode was 10/10, even though I had been spoilered about the subject matter of the show I was still fucking surprised. Then it was like six solid episodes of flashbacks and filler. Fucking ruined.

I really enjoyed it even thought it was different from manga. The scene where Miki confronts Yuki (ch. 15-16) would've been interesting to see as it was in the manga though. I liked the OST too. https://youtu.be/Ryq4MYq2Fbo https://youtu.be/2C0Y5kxd_VY

They didn't even include her thigh nibbling, Helicopter-kun, or even the extremely pivotal scene marking the exact moment she snaps out of her delusions after the fire.
>>
>>152772919
Don't forget they fucking butchered all the key Kurumi/Yuki scenes and literally upended scenes to push different pairings from the manga.
>>
>>152769234
I loved Gakkougurashi, and I think the anime is better than the manga. The anime perfectly understands what the point of the story is, which is that the main characters don't give up on life or happiness even in the situation they find themselves in. It's a more compelling story than "The Walking Dead with cute girls" which is what the manga chooses to be like about 70% of the time.

Yeah, I'm sure the author of the manga is just fucking clueless about what he is doing with it. You should probably inform him how his work is wrong in what it's trying to be.
>>
>>152772491
i thought 5k for each was breaking even usually
>>
>>152781880
If you're talking about the Manabi line, it's usually supposed to be like 2.8k, but it really varies depending on a lot of factors.
>>
>>152781873
He was fine with the anime adaptation.
>>
>>152781942
Yeah, he even played an active part in what the plot would be. What I'm saying is, >>152780257
is trying to make it sound like the manga's plot is somehow wrong, when in reality it's the damn source material and the anime is just some offspin.
>>
New chapter when? Is the anime worth watching if you only read the manga?
>>
>>152781873
That's not quite what I'm saying, especially because there isn't any objectively right or wrong way to do themes. When I say that the adaptation understands the point of the story, what I mean is that they took the most unique, thoughtful, and poignant aspect of the manga's narrative and centered the adaptation around that idea. I honestly think the anime is a lot better for having done that.
