I think the blonde pigtails would've made her look a bit too exotic/outlandish, whereas the black bob makes her look more mundane and plain, which suits her better. I still think she looks fairly distinct from Chisa, regardless.

As for her personality, she's still got plent of quirks, even when she's not wasted and caked-up. She's actually been my favourite of the female characters for the most part

Nah Prison School is way funnier in it's prime and the story is better to.

It actually had crucial plot developments, it wasn't just slice of lifey.

I'll say it's better than the cavalry arc though.
