I only watched Space Dandy's first cour and it wasn't anything special, not from an episodic storytelling point of view or even from a comedic point of view. The BOOBIES jokes got old immediately.

I disagree, I'm half way the 2nd season and I can say it has been enjoyable so far.
Sure, it's repetitive at times and there are some plain retard episodes like the hell boy one, but overall new elements are properly introduced to the story, making the execution no too tiresome like the other anon says, of course, maybe I'm just tolerant to it.

NGE is actually pretty simple in many aspects. Too bad you can't seem to grasp even the most simplistic things, as shown by your posts.

One thing that most people don't understand about Evangelion is that everyone should be able to relate to the characters to some extent. Shinji is cautious and don't want to get close to others because he has fear of getting hurt, he also pilots the EVA despite not wanting It and usually do things as he is told because he wants to be loved and accepted, he wants to have worth so that he won't be abandoned/left again, those characteristics are predominant in pretty much every teenager and adult to some extent. Same goes for Asuka, which is the same as Shinji but unlike him hides her insecurities behind false confidence and aggressiveness. Misato, who has a playful, carefree and confident attitude on the outside, but on the inside is also pretty similar to Shinji.

Anyone who ever felt insecure, alone, afraid, fear of not being accepted or not being worthy should be able to relate to the characters of this show to some extent, and in my opinion that includes pretty much everyone of us, especially the kind of people who frequent sites like /a/.

The problem is not that people do not relate to the characters, the problem is that they do not want to relate to them. Evangelion shows a part of us that we do not want to see or acknowledge, much like the characters in the show.

In my opinion you can make many criticisms to NGE, but anyone who says that the characters are bad or unrelatable either don't understand them or do not want to recognize their own flaws.
