Thoughts on Hiroyuki Sawano? He's my favorite composer after Hans Zimmer and Michael Giacchino. I listened to his Attack on Titan and loved every minute of it.

Why and how? I remember almost every theme from Titan.
Best soundtrack since BvS.
Sawano and Iwasaki are old and shriveled up.

Have you ever listened to like 3 of his recent soundtracks? They're repetitive as shit and filled with awful singers and e-guitar abuse. He peaked at Unicorn and has been shamelessly making low-quality bootlegs of it since.

>shitting on Iwasaki
I'll fight you.

Wrong.

Wrong again.

Now you're just being a dumbass.
I would love to see a collab between him and Zimmer.

Don't worry, OP. I get the joke.

No arguing with a stupid fanboy.
Repetitive and mediocre, but I like it

>Michael Giacchino
Biggest hack composer working in Hollywood. Rogue One was a travesty.
How could anyone possibly not notice this? Sasuga /a/
>>152560581
He'll never be able to top his work on The Incredibles.

The best are Angelo Badalamenti and Shiro Sagisu's early works for Evangelion
Great composer. AoEx S2's OST is great.
>tfw we're getting three shows with Sawano OST next season.
>>152559834
His three most recents OST are AoEX S2, Thunderbolt Fantasy and Kabaneri. The first two are great (so far for AoEx) and Kabaneri's OST was decent despite the clear lack of innovation.
Is this bait?
This must be bait.

Sawano tends to use engrish singers which resonates well with gaijins. Other that that, his action tracks are some of the best.
>>152562354
literally michael nyman ripoff
>>152562658
Nyman was 10 years old when this film came out.
I doubt he was an accomplished composer at such a young age.
>>152562720
by "michael nyman" i mean "western minimalist canon" you dumb dumbo
>>152562814
The timelines don't match up
>by "michael nyman" i mean "western minimalist canon" you dumb dumbo
funny how that term is well over 10 years older than the piece in question as well
stop pretending.

>comparing the Eastern equivalent of Bernard Herrmann to some Japanese Zimmer
Hilarious.
I know I'll be shot and stabbed for saying this, but he's honestly under rated in some ways. What I mean by that, is that he's made tracks that are just overlooked in every OST of his, instead it's always his epic and vocal stuff that gets the spotlight. His calmer, slower, and experiemental tracks just don't get any attention, usually stuffed in the 2nd OSTs of his works. His Mare OSTs don't seem popular at all, infact I'm sure not alot of people here know about Mare, but it's probably his best work in the past few years and easily 2nd place next to Unicorn, which is number 1. It really shows how diverse Sawano can sound. I pray for the day that he gets to work on an OST for an anime that has zero action in it, so no epic/vocal stuff, I'd like to hear that.

>His calmer, slower, and experiemental tracks just don't get any attention
Because they're mediocre.
Even Kajiura's quieter themes are remembered.

You sound to me like a 22 year old faggot that listens to Mozart with the lights dimmed and in full bodied tights.

So I wasn't the only one who was thinking of Vertigo when I listened to Kenshin's soundtrack.

Honestly, his work on Xenoblade X was trash, especially as a follow-up to Shimomura and ACE's work on the original.
Repetitive and mediocre tbqh.
Repetitive and mediocre, but I love it.
