So can anyone explain what happened with that art club girl and the doorway in PI? It seems like they were going to explain it but then dropped the ball and never got back to it. Was it just that her subconscious was manifest in PI? How did Papika and Cocona change things around in her head? Did they undo those experiences or simply change how that girl felt about her past?

He did better than 90% of anime male MC's would have in his circumstances.

That's remarkable by itself.

His only mistakes were not asking Papikana and Mimi to clearly state what was going on, though really I'd put more of the blame on them for not just telling him Mimi was pregnant.

After that incident he somehow managed to still become a top scientist and pure illusion expert, developed his own technologies to get there, did his own research and work to fund it all by himself and funded flip flappers in the hope of helping save Mimi.

Later he managed to not let the pure illusion mind fuckery affect him and became the only character to not fall for that bait and switch.

So his fuck up was relatively small, while he went beyond all measures to rectify it and was willing to pay the ultimate price for it.

Salt was pretty cool. Now all he has left to do is tell Cocona he is her dad and be there for her.
That'll be tough since his heart seems to have toughened up a lot over the years, so he'll need to open up a bit to warmth and kindness once again. But he's still a good guy deep inside so he'll do an ok job.

I still remember when I thought he might be pulling off a Gendo bullshit, but he turned out to be a much much better man, it's amazing.
