My impression was that it would repeatedly use the same gimmick and I was correct. MC is underestimated, meets obstacle that he is not supposed to be able to overcome, overcomes it anyways, everyone is shocked and awed. The typical pattern for this type of thing. I laughed a lot because of this as well.

However, the action was good, I thought the animation was good, supporting cast was solid, and they applied some twists to the MC which made it a bit more interesting. My memory is a bit blurred from the LN and anime, can't remember specifically what belongs to what.

His sister was a fucking garbage. Holy shit I hated hearing her say "Onii-sama" so much I started to dislike her seiyuu. And I'm not proud of it. What did she do to deserve voicing such cunt. Fuck.

I had high hopes for the show because of thr praise it got. It created a world with little to no explanation (especially the magic). The MC was extremely unlikeable, but was not the main reason I dropped the show. The main reason I dropped it was because I sensed the show was going to be complete bullshit on the episode where one bitch started a shitstorm because of a misunderstanding about her swordsmanship.

Like I was saying before, the implication of Honoka's genetics seems to be that she is fanatically loyal to Tatsuya. The whole thing with the robot revealed her innermost thoughts, it looks like she's okay with whatever position as long as she can be near Tatsuya. I think she'd be fine with just being a servant.

And, I am not completely up to date on the novels, but Tatsuya's rejection was for the reason that he is "missing a piece of his soul", and can't return her feelings in the way she desires. If Honoka is okay with that then hypothetically speaking it still might work.
