I avoided it for a long time as well because I don't like Key's artstyle. Only tried it after I met someone who told me it's his favorite anime.
Dropped it thrice throughout the first season so it took me a year to finish that.
I thoroughly enjoyed the second season.

Maybe you should give it another chance and only watch one episode a week or so.
