The recent filler has actually be disturbingly good and not naruto focused in the slightest. Its a post christmas miracle and from what I can tell canon for the most part but the kind of canon where you know its probably not going to be referenced again but still seeing Kakashi running things now as the hokage has been pretty great even though it doesn't suit him at all and it shows during these mini-series.

It's Shippuden's final cour, so they're actually trying.
