Yep, all the hype came from people remembering how good FF Versus XIII was supposed to be and the first reviewers spoonfeeding us an opinion as usual
Then people actually played it and realized narrative-wise it's half of a game, with half of another sewn on it, with very visible and ugly seams, without any kind of character development, the smallest most overhyped "open world" in modern RPGs, fuckton of incredibly tedious busywork and a shitty camera making combats a pain in the ass

Could have been possibly the greatest FF ever but fell short on its promises on so many levels
