The story itself isn't that good so it works best as a fairly mindless action flick, so I would say the anime. Also the ost for s1 was good, heres hoping it will be good for s2 too.

Reading the chapters about the boulder takes like 20-30 minutes. In the anime you have to go through episodes 10-13 which take 80 minutes (not counting OP/ED)
