it's really good. I'm very interested in why there is a coup d'etat in their nation. i'm glad we get to see the happenings of their world with a mc who is aloof and misunderstood. the subtle nuances may not be caught on by some but it's a mature series. you might have missed that tobacco has a high tax and mc gets it for free, or that the nation is the shape of a chicken.

There's actually quite a bit given to you. You can see the forks in the paths that the director general can take. You also see where the head of the five officers group has chosen to recheck the angle of why the director general is doing what she is doing.

It's all necessary in order to avoid sacrificing any innocent person to gossip. So it's a tightrope of office politics. Then there are other considerations that could be possible. For example, by disgracing Jean and then pulling down the sister, the management of the giant condominium/apartment building would switch to a new family line. Perhaps there is a candidate that wants that job but is unable to get it due to its position being inherited so far.

This is Japanese writing so there's two explanations to claiming he's watched a guy his entire lifetime before they knew each other:
>1. Jean's family had a reputation known to Nino (owned the building, worked in ACCA/police, etc.) and upon meeting Jean in school he recognised him as 'that guy's kid'

A few thoughts on this anime. For starters as others have stated, God Tier OP. I love the style and vibe of this show, perfect balance of comfy and intrigue so far.

My theory on what's going to happen revolves around some hints in the OP. I do think that Jean is related to the royal family somehow. Maybe not a direct prince, but a decedent of a pretender to the throne maybe? That would explain why everyone is so suspicious of him without much evidence to go on.

Now as for weather or not Jean is actually involved in plotting a coup, is still up for debate. Regardless, either Jean, Nino, Mauve, the head of the 5 chiefs, or some combination of them are up to no good.
