Since there's a new YGO movie releasing next month here in the west, I thought it would be cool to dump the original manga which the movie is based off of. For those of you who only ever watched the anime, I highly recommend reading the manga as it's much darker and better written than the anime was imo. There's also none of the fillers you have to deal with. Since the movie is releasing on Jan 27, 2017, I will dump one volume a day leading up to its release.
Today we finish Battle City in volume 31!
You don't need to do that at all. I'm sure Kaiba has a database with every recorded card in existence. All you need is to look at the effect of a card to come up with ideas of how it synergizes with other known cards. I do it all the time when new cards are revealed in upcoming booster sets.
I don't see what's bad about this. This is legit. It's just a monster token plus a monster. If anything Marik fusing with Ra is kind of bullshit but this seems fine considering Fusion cards aren't even a thing in the manga.
DMG a best
Who would have thought? Marik is actually a very capable duelist.
And that ends volume 31, wrapping up the Battle City arc!
Tomorrow we will start volume 32 which introduces the seventh and final YGO arc: Memory World! Thanks for reading!
This is the promo card you get for watching the movie. It will be in limited supply though.
No, Evil Marik targeted himself God cards can't be targeted by magic, trap and effects of monster. HOWEVER, Evil Marik is not a God card. They basically played a loophole and targeted the obvious side that would be affected by the De-Fusion.
This is the number one best thing to come out of the anime.
>The mangaka needs to work on better panelling
The mangaka just sucks in general. They made the guy who writes all the duels for every anime write the manga. He's probably never had experience writing a story before.
He had growth but the anime just blew it and gave all his accomplishments to Atem
>we didn't have either virtual world arc just Yugi despite it being brain scans
>Yugi wasn't the chosen one in the Orichalchos filler when Atem botches the duel and costs them a soul
>don't underestimate the power of rolls
look at this bullshit card Jou pulls off in R to help him with that
probably it didn't target a specific monster, so the god immunity thing didn't kick in
had Malik had another monster besides Ra, maybe it would also have been removed from play
that's actually a nice touch since the IRL effect is the same, you can choose to destroy 1 monster during its resolution, which means you're not targeting, thus Ra's immunity to targeting wouldn't work.
Probably. Against Yugi he went aggro as Osiris depended on the number of cards in your hand,. His tactic in that duel (Enemy Controller + Soul Exchange turbo, XYZ Dragon Cannon being a big beater that can be used as a triple tribute) ensure that even if Yugi manages to endure, he wouldn't have enough cards remaining in his hand to have Osiris equal attack to Obelisk. Even though Devil's Sanctuary can serve as tribute for Obelisk, its main purpose is to counter Ra's OTK (which he saw used against Bakura)
I'm pretty sure he made more Blue-Eyes cards after Pegasus died.
He's previously sealed in the puzzle after losing to Yami Marik.
After Yami Marik gets killed, his penalty games are removed freeing Yami Bakura, which is why he appeared immediately after Yugi won, thanking him for his service.
I think this is Kaiba's last appearance in the manga. He's absent during the final arc, one the very small things I liked that the anime added, but the anime also added tons of unnecessary changes to that arc that brought it down for me.
he does appear at the very end though it's an irrelevant appearance. I'm more salty that they didn't' continue the story with little Yugi, after he literally said "my adventure is only beginning".
>it's an irrelevant appearance.
I wouldn't say it's irrelevant at all given the movie. Him being in the final panel suggests that he came to see what Yugi was up to in Egypt and found out Atem departed for the afterlife as well as his name which leads to the events of the movie because he doesn't get closure.
