Firstly, his plans are nowhere near as genius tier as he thinks, even disregarding the fact that he has benefit of hindsight.
Secondly, the entire Lapis Lazuli arc left me feeling empty - it made no sense that the reason Lapis was empty was because 'muh revenge muh target', it would've made far more sense, considering all the flashbacks and 'you'll be like me' from his dad, for the MC to have realized that he had become what he hated the most - someone driven by love instead of logic - and that Lapis was repulsed by this change.
Thirdly, the entire concept of controlling his minions with fear simply doesn't add up. Fear only works within discipline and respect. That Datalian is a weak demon lord is common sense. He isn't using fear to his advantage, he's simply being a tyrant without offering a carrot and only using a stick.
Foruthly, all of the raiding villages and stuff simply served no purpose. There was simply no reason to do so, it didn't serve character development, it didn't move the plot forward, it simply was a show of 'look how edgy Datalian is'.
Fifthly, under normal circumstances someone like Paimon would have simply nuked Datalian. Politics loses meaning in the face of overwhelming power.

Well it's obviously all subjective, but I would say that of the handful or so I've read, Log Horizon is definitely up there.
And for the OP-protagonist series I'd say Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken is a lot of fun, even if the only person doing the scanlations right now is absolutely garbage.

The MC in Overlord is just entirely unrelatable and all his decisions seem a bit contrived to seem extra "edgy" and "I'm-a-cool-undead-without-emotions". I don't know if that changes later in the LN, but I've only read the manga, so that's all I know.

But that's just my opinion. Still pretty happy about this genre getting more popular, there is definitely potential for some great series in the genre.

You're probably right about 'Jaldabaoth' assaulting the Theocracy, but I'm placing my bet that Ainz really is going to die. One of the Godkin is going to actually deal a fatal blow to him. Ainz has the ring to resurrect though, noted in Vol 3, so he'll come back from it. Him being dealt fatal damage is going to piss off the denizens of Nazarick something fierce though.

There's your problem. Ainz isn't going to marry off any of the named NPCs made by the original guildmembers. He would NEVER make them do anything they didn't want to already do, and none of them seem very partial to humans in the least (even Yuri and Shizu just don't mind humans, rather than liking them outright; Sebas trusts in their better nature but ultimately it's just a stepping stone to his belief in protecting the weak).

Jerky at best would get a summoned Mercenary, AT BEST. Even then it probably wouldn't happen because there's not a good way for Ainz to present Jerky a concubine without outright admitting she's "some monster I summoned; go make babies you crazy kids," or training her immensely so that she somehow SEEMS like a living, breathing creature that has led a "life" before being summoned to follow orders to their death.

The fact of the matter is that he can't deal with it is objective; her Martial Arts make her able to go toe to toe with his pseudo-Level100 Warrior from the Perfect Warrior magic.

They only resemble their creator where the bio doesn't contradict. Pero clearly wrote Shalltear to be lustful and lewd, but I think he'd be turned off if she directed those feelings toward him.

On that subject, I wish we got a transcript of PA's bio. Despite what Ainz might say, they are very very similar to one another. Or rather, PA is a better reflection of Satoru Suzuki than Ainz Ooal Gown is.

I also wish for more Mare development, since he's like Alt Pero but is so robotic inside.

Ainz has at least a century or two to figure out how to get all the mortal NPCs immortality somehow, even if he has to sacrifice millions of sapient lives to do it. He's ready, he's willing, and certainly equipped to do so; he just needs to FIND it.

I have no doubt that Ainz-sama will find a way once it starts to become pressing (most likely before Aura and Mare, Cocytus and Entoma and possibly even PA and Narberal will start to make him remember their lives are finite).

Unless he figures out how to lash out against reality itself he'd honestly just get depressed and despondent about it. Ainz is in his own words selfish but he's not particularly malicious unless he believes something has been stolen from him. He can't really send That Old Thief, Time to Demiurge's happy farm.
