Maybe it's for the best. Maybe they're afraid of people tuning out during the Mahjong arc, being too frustrated trying to understand Mahjong to continue.

I think Zero would work better as anime than Kaiji mahjong arc. But adapting FKMT seems kinda risky, I don't think anime will sell well.

They didn't do an anime as promotion for recent Akagi movie and they're doing nothing for Gin to Kin TV drama either. Let's get real, live-action is all you're getting.
