HxH is a 10/10 (not perfect, but exemplary of its genre); YYH is 8/10 (more run of the mill, but great entertainment). Which is still pretty good, just bad in comparison.

I'll note I found the sub boring as fuck, but something about the dub made it a much more colorful show.

I thought the dub was kind of cheesy, but in a way that was suitable for the material. The Japanese cast was a bit too generic for my tastes and the dialogue felt more flat. I'm usually more of a sub person, mind you.

I can see why people would prefer the dub, especially since how Yusuke speaks in it is typically how Americans would picture a delinquent speaking.

If I recall correctly, the DVDs for YYH had both dubtitles and just plain old subtitles. And latter was a pretty dry translation.
