Why are his manga so depressing?
>>
Because of the anime adaptions they will never get.
>>
>>152263597
if i get this kickstarter for watamote season 2 to happen. maybe this open the floodgates for manga like this to get adaptations into a anime.
>>
>>152263597
But they all have happy endings

The first one even ends in a gigantic self-orgy between the characterts

>The first one even ends in a gigantic self-orgy between the characters

Stephen King did it first.

Hey
Fuck you
I hate you
>>
>>152263597
>Biscuit Hammer
I never like the MC & FeMC, since their reason to fight was too absurd to begin with. But, all the supporting characters in that series were fucking top tier. I love them all.
>Spirit Circle
The MC & FeMC of this series is better than HnS for sure.

Anyway, I never red the middle one. Is it good?

>kickstarter
So, you want anime full of QUALITIES?
>>
>>152265591
Middle is Sengoku Youko. A little unfocused but still great
>>
>>152263597
They aren't? As far as I remember they all had happy endings, and aside from Spirit Circle, relatively few deaths/tragedies. Are you sure you've read a depressing manga before?
>>
>>152263597
I think he is my favorite overall mangaka.

Yes
>>
>>152263597
they aren't though.
but i guess they all have this somewhat bittersweet feeling to them? which is nice for shonen.
>>
This guy is alright, but I'm getting a little tired with his characters and themes. They felt too repetitive, and there is a lack of variety in terms of characterization. Reminds me of Adachi.
>>
>>152263597
I wouldn't call his series depressing, the word you probably looking for is melancholy.
>>
>>152263597
spirit circle was heartwarming as fuck
>>
>>152265203
What book?
>>
>>152263597
They aren't depressing at all honestly, he always ends with uplifting themes, they can get pretty sad but there's always a light at the end of the tunnel, I really like that about them.
>>
>>152263597
I actually only really liked spirit circle of the three of them the rest where kinda meh in my opinion.

I don't find them depressing, there are sad things in them and tragic things; but it's usually not full on heartbreaking because there's always some good or small and warm comfort.

>>152265652
I think the only reason it felt unfocused is because scanlation was slow/stalled for years in the middle just after everything changed and we were left with a new MC, new focus and had to kind of work out where everything was going. But it did that really well, it built everything back up again and integrated them perfectly so looking back you wonder why you ever thought things had changed at all; it was natural. I would be willing to bet that if you went back and read through it again over the course of a few days it wouldn't feel unfocused in the slightest.

>>152266596
He looks like a chill as fuck guy. I imagined him with hair though.

That's the Gundam guy.
