Heat runs from hot materials to cold materials.
Air conditioners "trick" it to run heat from cold materials to hot ones.
Essentially, the goal is to use coolant that's hotter than what you want to cool.

I do think that Mousou is the better series though. More movement and better art direction. It's gimmicky, but I do like the use of Color and monochrome.
In general, it's just cuter too.
